Phenix City was once called the most corrupt city in the U.S. and was actually called "Sin City" before Vegas got the title. My family was deeply entrenched in Phenix City, Girard and Columbus Georgia. Good books. It wasn't cleaned up until the Alabama Attorney General was assassinated there.

while i certainly haven't lost much sleep over vinny being locked up in florence, him being moved is long overdue! there must be at least tens of thousands of criminals more deserving of a residence there!

ts the white ghetto in the mts. but there are plenty of other towns in wv that are similar. its not just minorities living off of the gov. down there they got generational white poverty. plenty of them,

it's pretty much the whole eastern kentucky/southern west virginia area that is in such shit shape. poverty sucks no matter what, but imo these rural towns have it alot worse than the urban areas just based off of geographic isolation if nothing else. when the mcdonald's and dollar store have no job openings, there are no jobs period. there's no public transportation at all, people literally just get stuck! lots of people without even the basics like electricity and running water, a whole different world!

And Five, there is hardly ANY public transportation in the South! Only the bigger cities have it like Atlanta, Birmingham, etc. Other than that you are shit out of luck down here.

Down there generational poverty. I think most of the population lives off of sometime of Gov Assistance welfare, food stamps, SS Disability. etc Seen a couple of Docs over the years about that area. Shitsville USA....
