Found myself in Apalachin NY

Post by Garbageman »

How can anyone not 'know' about Apalachin NY? Well, everyone from Apalachin NY 'knows' about Apalachin NY lol.
One of my trucks got several DOT violations up in Owego, NY. Had to go up there for court this week. Waiting out in the parking lot a few court employees started talking with me and after a couple minutes, I said "I guess you guys get asked all the time about 1957 up here, huh?"
They had a blast telling me a towns-persons point of view. I had a blast listening. The one guy told me his perception when he was a little kid was that his town invented the mafia. He had grown up thinking the mob was based out of his town and controlled the world. Lol had to post

Interesting. Also I noticed a couple people refer to the Township as Oswego, but this one is Owego. Apparently Apalachin, NY of Tioga County resides within the Township of Owego as a unincorporated 'section'

Totally unrelated, personal note. I used to really enjoy passing by Nixon's house in Upper Saddle River. Always wondered who he bumped heads with after the white house, up there in that town

I've been out to Barbara's house about 11 years ago, interesting little town. Nothing special, a bunch of local yocal cops with nothing better to do.

That pretty much describes it. No action
