Re: In the shadow of the Mob-Youngstown Documentary
I saw this before you posted me and the wife watched it she said if I wasn't married to you and had no idea about the Mafia or Youngstown and Cleveland and the Pittsburgh Mafia families this documentary would have no interest for me. However she enjoys others. This doc is def for people interested in a specific faction of la costra nostra

I thought it was well done and well researched. Have you ever seen the A & E Documentaey called Youngsrown: Mob Hits & Misses?

The A & E Documentary is amazing. It really describes the downfall of Lenny Strollo. I think you'll enjoy it, lots of good photos and video footage.

My Wife and I watched it. It wasn't really all that informative. It was nice to watch and interesting but not informative.

Re: In the shadow of the Mob-Youngstown Documentary
I always wondered in the season 4 of the sopranos when Paulie was locked up in Youngstown lockup he was out there seein a friend named Lenny got busted with a .38 under the seat from a unsolved homicide from 8 years ago... I always wondered if that was a little homage to strollo from sopranos writers

It's a new morning in America... fresh, vital. The old cynicism is gone. We have faith in our leaders. We're optimistic as to what becomes of it all. It really boils down to our ability to accept. We don't need pessimism. There are no limits.
Re: In the shadow of the Mob-Youngstown Documentary
Yup, that's the one. It is full of very good content from 1990's Youngstown and the downfall of Lenny Strollo.Nicholas wrote:JCB1977 wrote:phatmatress777 wrote:No I haven't I thought it was well done and I enjoyed it but my point was to the casual mob doc watcher it was a little hard to follow... The name Paulie used in the Sopranos was 'Lenny Scortise.' I know for a fact that when Tony Sirico was in Youngstown for the filming of Ray Mancini's movie called Turn of Faith, he had dinner at the Fireplace Restaurant with Paulie Holawatick (Joey Naples Bodyguard/driver) and former bookmaker Sammy Vona. I'm sure Tony Sirico knew what had just transpired in Youngstown at that time...Plus, I know for a fact that he went with Ray Mancini down to Steubenville to visit the longtime home of Dino Crocetti aka Dean Martin. Ray Mancini is married to Tina Romeo, Paul Romeo Sr.'s granddaughter.
