With all due respect, I strongly believe that Lenny and Joey were made by Jimmy Prato earlier than '87 and Chuckie by Michael after that. I still maintain that Ernie wasn't made. Reach out for JCB to get us both straight, as I'm sure he knows.

Ernie was never made , , from what I gather he didn't bow dow to Lenny and it got him whacked. Was his brother Tony in the rackets as well FOH?FriendofHenry wrote:With all due respect, I strongly believe that Lenny and Joey were made by Jimmy Prato earlier than '87 and Chuckie by Michael after that. I knew Ernie and he always treated my like I treated him, with respect. I never knew or knew of his brother Tony.
Not only wouldn't he bow to Lenny, he put his own poker machines in Hillsville, PA and didn't cut Lenny in. Both the FBI and Henry told him he was in danger. Obviously, Ernie didn't give a f**k and we all know how that ended

Unfortunately, I also knew Lenny. As time went on he demanded respect and gave none However, I did not know any of the others.

Re: Eugene
Mike Genovese never would have made Eugene Gesuale. Although they come from the same neighborhood on Larimer Ave in East Liberty, Mike looked at Eugene as an animal and knew his primary source of income for decades was narcotics. While Michael may not have "openly discouraged" narcotics trafficking, I could assure you he didn't endorse it either. By 1987, Michael empowered Chucky Porter to run the day to day operations, acting primarily as a street boss. I don't believe Michael knew "the extent" of how deep Chucky was into the narcotics trafficking. Chucky brought Michael more money than he had ever seen and Genovese didn't ask nor did Chucky tell.phatmatress777 wrote:I believe if he hadn't went away he would have been made around the same time porter strollo and Ernie bioniondillo were all made. Like everyone has said here huge earner and Michael geneovese embraced narcotics trafficking from here to Youngstown to Altoona to where ever he had any influence. He was one of the few bosses that didn't openly discourage it.

Re: Eugene
Ernie B was never made, he was Joey Naples right hand man but never inducted into Pittsburgh...and that was a very sore subject for him. Zebo explained to Ernie on several occasions that he needed to fall in line but EB operated his own rackets and he viewed Lenny as a joke...and it got him killed. The only guys made by Mike Genovese during his reign were: Sonny Ciancutti and Chucky Porter in 1986 and Joey Naples and Lenny Strollo in 1987. Henry "Zebo" Zottola was made around 1989 after Porter got indicted with Lou Raucci.phatmatress777 wrote:I believe if he hadn't went away he would have been made around the same time porter strollo and Ernie bioniondillo were all made. Jimmy Prato sponsored Joey Naples and Lenny Strollo in 1981 during the Pittsburgh-Cleveland War. Big John LaRocca's health was failing and he was spending most of his time in Pompano Beach, FL and was not looking to induct new members at that time. Joey Naples was particularly close to Kelly Mannarino and Sonny Ciancutti in New Kensington as he was aligned with the New Ken faction from the early 1970's.FriendofHenry wrote:With all due respect, I strongly believe that Lenny and Joey were made by Jimmy Prato earlier than '87 and Chuckie by Michael after that. Ernie's brother Tony had a cushy job at the Mahoning County Sanitary Engineer's Department and he also helped Ernie and Ernie's business partner with all the rental properties and apartment buildings that they owned. Tony was a gentleman as was Ernie. I knew Ernie since I was 5 years old and he loved his kids more than life itself. Both of his kids turned out excellent and successful.FriendofHenry wrote:I knew Ernie and he always treated my like I treated him, with respect. I never knew or knew of his brother Tony.
