Colombo family outside BK/LI?

Why have the Colombos always been so isolated in terms of where they operated compared to the other families? Any theories?

Have any cooperators spoken about this?

Some of the other posters can probably expand on this but the Colombos have operated outside BK and LI. Richard Fusco operated in the Bronx for example. I think the Colombos have mainly been in BK and LI but have operated in places such as the Bronx, New Jersey, and Florida.

Probably not the best example, but Ralph DeLeo ran a crew in Massachussets. IIRC, he was like 50 years old serving Federal time when he met and became friends with Little Allie Boy, and was made shortly after. I think he may have been affiliated with Gerry Anguilo before that.

I remember this being news because of the lofty term applied to him before he went down on racketeering charges. He had been referred to as a "streetboss", supposedly hand-picked by Allie Persico to replace Tommy Shots. It seemed incongruous for a Colombo boss to be operating out of Sommerville, MA.

As for DeLeo... I almost remember back on RD few ppl said he was posting stuff... And then someone outed him N he stopped. Am i rembering that correctly?

I thought the colombos were the only ny fam that didnt have a real nj crew so im really interested if furo is postinf real shit or not...

De Leo was made after 1997 and until Allie Boy nomined him street boss in 2008 he ran a crew in sommerville Massachusett now deleo is in jail and will be out in the 2025.

As for the Colombos in Jersey they did have a Crew there for a long time but it looks to have been wiped out/disbanded in the early 90s. Though I'm sure they still have people operating there.

Ok... Now im kinda remmebering more... He was called out on snitching on someone non LCN. I believe... I still have a real deal account maybe i could somehow search... Was smarten up? I dont think it was same. Smartenup was said to be someone's brother from the nj side of lucchesse

The Colombos probably have people operating in every borough as well as Jersey, but their main bases are Brooklyn and Long Island. This thing isn't as geographical as many people assume. A lot of Bonannos operate in Queens and Long Island, but those same Bonannos actually belong to what many refer to as the Bronx faction. This can get very confusing.

Deleo was Jenna on the RD. When Deleo got busted, Joeycigars posted that he had heard that Jenna was Deleo and TJ posted that it was true, that the poster Jenna on the RD was Deleo and TJ was never caught making things up and new most of the players from Boston/NE.
