Akron had it's own wing of the Cleveland Family and was once a cesspool for OC activity going back to the late 1800's and early 1900's beginning with Black Hand crimes.

Akron became one of the first mafia cities in the Midwest during the early 1900s. The Black Hand, led by Rosario Borgio, came to Akron during that time and headquartered The Society on the north side.

Pat was one of 8 children. His older brother Angelo, born in 1908 and died in 1988 was sentenced to prison in the late 1920's for robbery. Pat, born in 1917, was arrested for the first time in 1933 on holding up a bank...he was 16. His other brother was Sam born in 1921 and died in 1999. His other siblings were all sisters. A few of his sisters he used for paying people off. The family has a long, long, long hisotry of N'Drangheta ties to Calabria.

Re: Akron Ohio + Italian mafia
The guy who said Tony Lafatch killed the boy was a liar. Later this guy who made up the story - confessed to killing the boy with a big stick in the barn. I have several of the Old Articles that covered the story and the story went on for sometime with a lot of speculation. There are a lot of articles on this story from varying newspapers at the time. I don't even want to post all this crap because no need to refuel and speculate about it again. The only connection this guy had with Tony Lafatch was that Tony supplied booze to him.JCB1977 wrote:He was absolved of the crime but he was accused of it.
