What's your point? Yes, I follow the mob and OC in general. But I've never been one to worship these guys or root for them. Ask anyone here. I've always said mob guys, like other criminals, should get harsher punishments. So yes, I do truly believe that.

my point is In my opinion your full of crap. I actually believe its quite the opposite of what you portray.

what do you think about my idea... stop 100% of foreign aid to europe and take what would amount to a fraction of that money and pay 100% of every us citizen's heathcare costs, that way europe can tout how strong and progressive they are all by themselves and nobody over here would have to worry about crushing medical bills, especially the innocents who fell victim to the stray bullets fired by pookie and ray ray! everybody wins!

Bookmaking is just another avenue or outlet for someone to make a wager. Wagering/Gambling in most of the U.S. is legal, be it card clubs, race tracks (OTB's) or outright Class III gaming/casinos. The G's sentencing guidelines on bookmaking speaks of how our Federal government loves to take control of everyone's lives; i.e., our freedoms keep getting chipped away, be it rules on what we can buy/what can be sold and from what other Country (i.e., food), levels of health insurance a publicly traded company must offer its employees, types of handguns that you can buy, etc., etc.

The 50 States and the Feds reap billions in taxes every year on casinos and various other forms of gaming. Lawmakers only see bookies as illegal competitors; illegal in the sense that they are not paying their fair share of taxes, perhaps. [Though a smart bookie, who doesn't want to garner attention, might pay his fair share of income taxes to stay under the radar. But I digress]. Bottom line, the G creating laws that can cause a bookie to get a 25 year sentence is more than outrageous.

If you're arguing the US should be more like Western Europe you can save that BS right now. Western European countries are souless bastions of secularism and socialism soon to be run over by radical Islam in the years to come. Tout your universal healthcare and low gun murders all you want. The writing is on the wall for you guys.
Wiseguy do you think Canada and Australia are in Western Europe? You might want to recheck that.

And WE's issues are with Islam (and yes I concur they're fucked) and have zero to do with universal healthcare and low gun murders. Its due to immigration.
And guns wont save that. Islamic immigrants settle, breed, then change local laws to conform to their religion, eliminating individual rights and freedom of speech.
All the guns in the world doesnt prevent that. You have to stop the pricks at the border. When theyre in, you lose.

And its sadly obvious youve never seen the beauty of Paris, or Rome, or Vienna because the word 'souless' could not be more inappropriate.

I've given you no reason to believe I'm not serious. Once again, I've long been consistent in saying this. And, if anything, people who have been on the forums for years now and know me will tell you I'mean probably too upfront and honest about myself. But believe what you want.

That's a good point. It's always been easy for Western Europe when they haven't done the heavy lifting when it comes to defense spending or taking the lead in dealing with issues around the world.

I agree that the government being involved in giving is hypocritical and shouldn't be the case.

Canada, Australia, and Western Europe are all very similar as far as I'm concerned.

And when I say soulless, it's not about how their cities look, though I imagine that's the first thing they'd point to in their defense. But it would go to my point. Western Europe has become very secular and worldly. One only needs to see the plummeting church attendance rates over the years to see it.

As for the guns, much like those in the US who are against gun ownership, you haven't mentioned how criminals would be prevented from obtaining guns since they're obviously not going to follow the law like others would. And, for example, what's a family supposed to do for self defense if, say, their home is being invaded by armed criminals? Hope the cops get there soon and grab a kitchen knife in the meantime? Also, while its fortunately far from that point, there's something to be said about the Founding Fathers and how they viewed the citens being armed as a deterent to government oppression.

Back to the original complaint, you'll notice most of these guys are charged with several things. Not just gambling but also enterprise corruption, conspiracy, and money laundering. It adds up. Not that any of them will do more than a fraction of the time they could get. And I suppose some on here will sleep better because of it. Yes, rest assured our criminal justice system is too weak, liberalized, and impotent to actually carry out the sentences it has. Yay.

its an automatic that they hit you with every charge possible that way they can drop the weaker ones in a plea agreement, and it gives them more leverage when bargaining.

If u seriously think bookmaking deserves 25 years than u r a seriously fucked up person .

Gambling is legal in all states through the lottery so the fact sports betting is illegal is absolutely insane . It's hypocritical .
I have a lot better shot at winning betting a football game than I do in the lottery .

All sports betting should be legal through bookmaking store fronts like they have in a lot of Europe . Go in place a bet on a legit place with money in hand and if u win go back the later to collect your winnings .

Smoke signals is also a communication device. The charge will be exactly the same.
