Good point! Also, people often view these promotions as based on merit and not being political, whereas I believe they're often 100% political decisions.

It's entirely possible that the Sicilian faction is allowing someone from the other faction have a leadership position, but only someone who is older and who will fall in line and not make any waves. A compromise of sorts, to give the other side the illusion of having any power.

I know nothing about Big Lou or who he is as a leader. I'm just pointing out that these things aren't always as they seem on the surface and there's often layers of different political games being played we don't know about.
