It was never in the hundreds. Judging by the fed figures in the 1960's to 1980s, I'd be surprised if the family was ever more than 70 members max.

Its up to the reader to interpret what law enforcement really means. Assume they are telling the truth yet lying. So go back 50 years, divide by 1.5, add 30 years, read two more articles, then subtract 35. After that, come on this board, read a random persons opinion and then assume he knows the truth from behind his computer screen. Understanding he may or may not be a cop you then can call your grandma and ask her what she thinks about the Mafias membership in New England. After all that, youll roughly have your answer. Im not saying the guy they're working with is the boss of anything. He just has some kids running around doing some small time stuff. I wouldn't say they are doing everything on behalf of him, he's just like the OG and mentor of the neighborhood. He's been around for decades and is in that same area as Hogan. He was around the Whitey era WHG not the earlier Somerville years.

30 made guys seems like alot, no? If we are going by fbi information. I am not one to take the FBIs word for everything and all their boiler plate responses to the public. The most useful information is usually not shared. But 30 seems high

30 identified formally made members who are still alive, it seems like only like a dozen are still doing anything.

And of that dozen id bet less than half make more than 50% of their income on the street.

At this point the only crime they need is basically the typical quid pro quo that we see everywhere else
