Any picture of any Saint, or if you're a lucchese you could even use toilet paper, .......SoliaiBontade wrote:Not sure exactly St. Nicholas
Re: Initiation ceremony
Usually it was Santa Maria Annunziata, Mary the mother of Jesus. Some sources also say St. Francis of Assisi, but that may have been a substitute when no image of Mary could be found.

Wow, had no idea they used a particular card, is this in Italy or here in the US? And was it over heard on a wire or something?......SoliaiAntiliar wrote:Usually it was Santa Maria Annunziata, Mary the mother of Jesus. That's St. Peter, my family saint. Now, as that card burns, so may your soul burn in hell if you betray your friends in the family.

It's a new morning in America... fresh, vital. The old cynicism is gone. We have faith in our leaders. We're optimistic as to what becomes of it all. It really boils down to our ability to accept. We don't need pessimism. There are no limits.

To Everyone: I could be wrong, but I believe different American Families had different saints they used during the initiation ceremonies.
