Re: General Chicago Outfit Info Dumping Ground
Watching comedians in cars getting coffee with Seinfeld. Jay Leno tell a story on his episode about getting hired by Sinatra to go to Chicago for a mob charity golf outing. He describes meeting a “very famous Chicago mobster” and tells a story about him. Never names the guy. Would love to know who he’s talking about . Basically says the guy flew off the handle a few times in anger.

I wonder if any of these WGN reporters Google these names - that is hilarious you have the alleged boss of a crime family on camera discussing gang violence (after serving 20 years for a gang murder).

Thanks for the heads up on Cerone, that totally checks out.Aunt+Baby wrote: ↑Mon Dec 09, 2024 1:47 amThis has been discussed previously. Not really directed at Aunt Baby, but the “this has been discussed before” line is sometimes near enough for me to stop visiting this forum. In a forum that sees typically a few posts a week, regarding a topic where there is not a lot of publicly available information, things are going to be rehashed. Some folks are more casual, don’t do hard-core research, and just drop in to check in on things. That’s just fine. I’m so thankful for the experts who do extensive research, We are lucky to have them, and I have zero problem with the casuals who don’t.

Search YouTube, can’t remember who he was talking to but he goes into more detail about the incident.Coloboy wrote: ↑Mon Dec 09, 2024 8:43 amThanks for the heads up on Cerone, that totally checks out.Aunt+Baby wrote: ↑Mon Dec 09, 2024 1:47 amThis has been discussed previously. He's also personally murdered someone in gang shooting violence. Was even convicted so I don't even have to say "allegedly".
Here's the Rainone videos. Looks like he gave separate interviews to almost every Chicago news station. I've linked to where he starts in all of these for everyone's convenience. People are already starting to talk shit about his mob ties in some of the comments so they might be worth monitoring (one is like "why would you put a mobbed up dude that buys stolen gold on tv").

OK I think that should be enough haha. YouTube wouldn't let me copy the URLs with time stamp included so I went through and entered them all manually so we could have this for posterity.
This is the second time this has happened by the way. About 1:13 in this video I posted in the Mugshots section a while back. Seems like his place is in a fun neighborhood. This one's great because he talks about his appreciation for law enforcement.

James 'Jimmy Lap' La Pietra 1960s (Cicero). I've got some additional old photos of both LaPietra brothers that I'm glad to message to anyone interested.

Message Solai and ask for post-privilege for the mugshots section, and you can post them there. You should have enough substantive posts, by now. It's not an automated thing, I think it's handled on a case-by-case basis.NorthBuffalo wrote: ↑Tue Dec 10, 2024 8:09 am

Oh man that's rich. I forgot about his conviction for murder. A lifetime gang member, convicted of murder via shooting, is the go to guy for on the street reporting regarding gang shootouts.Ivan wrote: ↑Mon Dec 09, 2024 7:54 pmHe's also personally murdered someone in gang shooting violence. It’s in the rougher quadrant of Cicero, which is itself a town with significant problems with gang crime. Then, as Rainone explains in one of the above interviews, Roosevelt Ave is the border there with the Westside of Chicago. The adjacent neighborhoods are South Austin, North Lawndale, and West Garfield Park, which rank among the very worst neighborhoods in Chicago (hard to overstate how bad this section of Chicago is to people who don’t know it. Think of the series “The Wire”). So there is also spillover crime etc. Based on the reporting, the recent multiple shooting incident sounds like the latter.Ivan wrote: This is the second time this has happened by the way. I generally don't get scared driving around Chicago, but it's hard not to get a little nervous on Roosevelt around Cicero/North Lawndale/Garfield Park. That area is hell on earth.PolackTony wrote: ↑Tue Dec 10, 2024 9:51 am“Da bullets don’t have names”. Re: General Chicago Outfit Info Dumping Ground
I have a longtime friend who owns property in the adjacent part of South Austin, so I have been out that way many times over the years. Via CTA (oooffaaa) and car. It’s like Humboldt Park in the 80s, just constant gunfire and insanity. I don’t miss this lol.Cosmik_Debris wrote: ↑Tue Dec 10, 2024 2:31 pmI generally don't get scared driving around Chicago, but it's hard not to get a little nervous on Roosevelt around Cicero/North Lawndale/Garfield Park. Even in nicer areas of Chicago, I don’t operate like I’m in NYC. I don’t so much as glance at anyone in neighboring cars at red lights, never even tap my horn in traffic. Not worth getting your car sprayed up. I’m mostly up in Rogers Park when I’m back in town these days and every time there’s at least one shooting there, multiple assaults and armed robberies, just in the couple block radius around my in-laws. Couple years ago was there for Thanksgiving and some kid got murked broad daylight around the corner, while his family was getting dinner ready. Car full of dudes jumped out and whacked him real nasty like in front of everyone. Had just come from picking up fam and looking for parking and had to see his mom screaming and the whole front sidewalk covered in blood. Then, drove my mother back home to HP later that night, and her block was taped up by CPD for a triple shooting.
I’ve been in the roughest parts of NYC in the dead of night by myself many times, been inside multiple NYCHA projects (I know a lot of people here who grew up in the PJs), lived for years in a — by NYC standards — very rough section of Soundview in the South Bronx. And I feel much more unsafe in even nicer parts of Chicago. Lawndale or Austin, forget about it lol. Nothing in NYC compares, not even Brownsville. You gotta go to North Philly or Camden to see something like that out East. And North Lawndale today ain’t even what it used to be! I used to go out by Roosevelt and Sacramento in the 90s all the time. That shit was off the hook, just unreal. I had a buddy that was a TVL from that section, so I didn’t have to worry when I was there (so long as a I wasn’t hanging out on the corner, cause bullets ain’t got no name), but it was probably at its very worst in those years in terms of both violence and the bombed out infrastructure.
