OGPod episode with Giovanni Rocco
https://youtu.be/93c2Fr9Szcc?si=p0L4jmLJJHyxXrmF

Notes from JoePuzzles
• Luigi Oliveri was Frank Guarraci’s driver during a period when he was the acting boss
• Rocco confirms that Oliveri’s captain was Emanuel P. Riggi
• Charles Stango was close with Gambino member Nicholas Mitarotonda, described by Rocco as the “Gambino boss in New Jersey”
• Oliveri’s “dog” nickname stemmed from two sources, the usual pitbull collection story and also owning a pet store at one point
• Rocco further confirms Joseph Merlo as the underboss
• Stango’s close relationship with Charles Majuri would have seen him elevated to underboss after John M. Riggi’s death
• Rocco further confirms Joseph Sclafani as a captain (via the Oliveri social club incident)

Rocco also mentioned Stango having ties to Italy and Canada. Anyone know anything about his Canadian ties? Wonder if it's a reference to Guarraggi's family or something else.

I think he's still alive and about 86.

I don't think he is anymore (if he ever was). More like the Gambino member with the most seniority among the few left in New Jersey. Beltempo was mentioned in 2010 as having been put in charge of NJ operations and he was said to be Manhattan based. The Gambinos really haven't had a crew based in Jersey in at least the last 20 years.

Yeah I think he filed some false charges against his old lawyer and the AUSA in his last case for conspiring against him. Ended up with a 12 month bid over it.

Not sure if that’s 100% correct.

Beltempo wasn't even made at the time of that conversation between Stefanelli, Licata and Fazzini in 2010. The Gambinos were going straighten him out and promote him to captain of the NJ crew. He was still a captain when Pennisi drove him and Truscello to the Bronx in the mid 2010s.

It was a false lien, not false charges.
