Baby brother, John Phillip “Johnny” Accardo.

Here’s a photo of him published in 1956, when he plead the 5th at a federal grand jury investigating the misuse of the welfare fund of Local 110 of the projectionists union. Johnny Accardo was the longtime projectionist at Sportsman’s Park in Arlington Heights and was a member of 110, as was Tony Accardo’s son Anthony Ross Accardo.

Yes I get most of my information from guys who were formerly with 110. Some of these guys were burning movie theaters in the Chicago suburbs up until 10 years ago - I don't think there is another local in the country like that one.

Tony Accardo and Clarice Porter had 5 kids: Anthony Jr, Frank, Marie (Kumerow), Linda (Palermo), and Joseph.

Frank was clearly a sad story. Born in 1937, he evidently was afflicted with some type of developmental disability as in 1950 he was living at Dixon State School, an institution for developmentally disabled kids in Downstate IL (Dixon Penitientiary was later built on the grounds). Frank died at 19 in 1957 and was buried in the Dixon School’s cemetery. No obituary, no mention of him when his relatives later died.

Any interview I've seen with him is brutal. Truly a traumatized individual. Frank Sr. was a sick man. Let's not forget, his mis-treatment and abuse of his family is what ultimately led to the family secrets trail in the end.

Kurt’s ex-wife was Angela LaScola, granddaughter of Angelo. Daughter of Salvatore LaScola and Joann LaPietra.

Additionally, when he and his kids were active with that crew, did they still live in EP? What was their presence in the Bridgeport area? Did they just go down there for business and otherwise reside in EP?

Tony knows where for sure, but Frank wasn't originally from EP. He got put with Angelo LaPietra in the 1960s and followed him from the Turk Torello crew into Chinatown when Angelo got promoted to captain of that crew. He bought a house in EP after he had been involved in the Outfit for a time, but I'm not exactly sure of when.

Frank Sr was from the Patch near west side. Larry Stubitsch was his first loan shark partner according to Jr's book. They got whistled in by the Buccieri crew who were consolidating the juice rackets in that area and LaPietra became the guy they began paying. Larry was later murdered but I think it was unrelated.

It’s already been noted, but the Calabrese brothers were originally from Grand Ave. The family lived at Erie and Hoyne in 1940 and then at Ohio and May in 1950. In the 1960s, Frank Calabrese was living at Fullerton and Menard by Hanson Park. By the early 70s, he had relocated to N 75th Ct in Elmwood Park.

Frank Calabrese Sr was a young hoodlum involved in burglary, armed robbery, auto theft, and trafficking of stolen goods in the 1950s and early 60s. In the 60s, he got heavily into juice loans and was allegedly originally bankrolled by a Skokie nightclub owner named Vic Lazzaroni. This operation was independent and Frank wasn’t yet affiliated with LCN in any formal way. As Frank’s book wound up with a lot of money on the street, he got called in by Angelo LaPietra, who was of course one of the main juice loan operators in the Buccieri crew, and was apparently told that he would thereafter be with LaPietra (can imagine what the alternative would have been). Thus Frank and Nick were originally associates of the Buccieri/Torello crew and followed LaPietra to Chinatown when he became captain of that crew in the late 70s or early 80s, as Snakes said.

Frank Sr did seem to have his own personal ties to the Chinatown/Armour Square neighborhood, however. Anthony “Twan Doyle” Passafiume claimed that he had known Frank since they were kids as Frank used to play handball in Chinatown when he was young. In 1970, the Feds also said that a close associate of Frank was a redacted name living at 30th and Princeton who was also involved in the juice business (it wasn’t Mario Dispenza as his name wasn’t redacted in that report, so it may have been Ronnie Jarret).
