Re: Gambino 1960's Chart (in progress)
I think actually, on his latest lists, JD included the suspected members or possible members but did not mark them as such. That includes a number of names. Angelo, if we come across proof that these guys were indeed made you should include them of course. But until then, it would be incorrect to put them on your chart.B. wrote: ↑Fri Aug 04, 2023 8:31 pm JD has him listed as a soldier on his list of deceased Gambino members and he is extremely careful about those things, listing people as "suspected" or "possible" unless it comes from a reliable source. He must have found something that gave him confidence in Bentvena being a member.
There you have it, never printed before.
Re: Gambino 1960's Chart (in progress)
On the deceased list where he included Bentvena he said at the bottom he didn't include possible members so he must have found a solid source on it.

Re: Gambino 1960's Chart (in progress)
"Total: 114
Murders: 11 [2 Unsanctioned]
The above figure is only a baseline estimate. There are several possible members who died in this time frame as well, along with an indeterminate number of complete unknowns."
- Do you mean this? I´m reading this to mean that there are additional possible members who died during that time frame that he did not list. If I am not wrong, it could be that some names on his list are of those that can be cathegorized as possible members or suspected members.
There you have it, never printed before.
Re: Gambino 1960's Chart (in progress)
I believe he is saying these are confirmed members and he didn't include the ones he considered possible members. Knowing him and his blog, that is most likely.

Re: Gambino 1960's Chart (in progress)
I am convinced William Bentvena was not made. But since JD is not here, we will not know the reason behind why he put him, and others never identified or once identified by FBI but later excluded from membership, on his list.
There you have it, never printed before.

Not sure if you are still doing FBI #s but here are some I have collected on Gams in 1963:Angelo Santino wrote: ↑Sun Feb 06, 2022 12:15 pm I'm going to include FBI #'s. Where can I acquire them aside from the fbn book? HK, do you have them? If not, no worries. I'll add what I can.

Re: Gambino 1960's Chart (in progress)
I have to ask if this project is still moving forward. It would be a shame to let this project die. So much effort will go to waste if this one is dropped.

Joe Zoppo lived at the same address as Sam Accardi.
In the 1950 census, Joe Zoppo was living at 68 Peck Ave, Newark, NJ with his parents and siblings. His family had been at this address as early as 1942. His father Salvatore Zoppo registered for the WW2 draft at that address.

Sam Accardi lived at 68 Peck Ave, Newark, NJ in the 1940 census but had moved to 188 Franklin St, Bloomfield, NJ by his naturalization in 1945.
——————-
I don’t know if their times at that house ever overlapped or if Accardi sold his house to the Zoppo family.

Re: Gambino 1960's Chart (in progress)
Figured out how Anthony Scoma & Dr. Philip Noto were related: they were 2nd cousins.
Scoma’s mother Carmela Cannariato (1883-1979) was a first cousin to Noto’s mother Carmela Cannariato (1882-1974). Their maternal grandfathers, Laurentio & Bartolomeo Cannariato, were brothers.
The Cannariato family was from Prizzi, so they could have been related to Rockford, IL figure Salvatore “Sam” Cannariato whose family was also from there.

Nice work.
Do you know if Noto was from Monreale proper? Some of the Monrealese in the US mafia were actually from Pioppo, a small frazione halfway between Monreale and Partinico though those guys tended to be in the Bonanno network. I've noticed a lot of connections/relations between many towns in the Palermo province interior in general, even stretching quite a ways throughout the region.

Stephen Grammauta's father Domenico was born in Misilmeri. His mother was from Santo Stefano di Camastra in Messina.
I also think Joe Armone's mother was a Grammauta but can't confirm it.

Re: Gambino 1960's Chart (in progress)
I ask because some of these guys are listed as being from Monreale but deeper investigation shows they were from Pioppo, which is a frazione of Monreale thus they are technically recorded as being from Monreale. LoPiccolo and the Trifiros were from "Monreale" but it was actually Pioppo and they ended up in the Bonanno network which makes sense as Pioppo is closer to Partinico. Guys from the actual town of Monreale might show different patterns.
