Nobody discredits that Leonardo and Sollecito are the leaders. A couple of years ago I stated that I believed that Stefano Sollecito was groomed as Vito's successor. When Leonardo was placed as co-leader it came as a suprise to many of us. It does make some sense because his family has hold a grip on the Montreal Mafia for decades and as Vito's only surviving son he represents his father's legacy.

The way I see it is that Leonardo overees his family's interests while Sollecito is in charge of the muscle-end and street operations of the organization.

If one were to go back over my posts on RD and GBB, I always thought Leonardo in some capacity was involved in the family. Guys said I was crazy though. But it wasn't that much of a shock to me when it was seemingly confirmed through project MAGOT & MASTIF. And I was responding to DPG, when I said the discredit thing. However its not just him, there are those on the other forums who seem to discredit what was presented through those two investigations.

There's also a member on GBB who believes the Bonannos are involved in this, through the backing of Sal Catalano and him backing the Rizzutos. I haven't even heard of him having a crew recently, so idk about that. And that the Gambinos are backing the Montreal Calabrians, through Frank Cali. I know they're involved with Ontario, but Montreal? Idk about that. He also says Buffalo is involved and are backing one of the two.... Buffalo.

I'm just going to read about Canada from now on, I will admit I know nothing about Canada as I've never took a liking to it. As well i know next to nothing when it comes to the current affairs of the new york mob either but i know crime in general, in particular drugs. All that said, it my. opinion what's going on in Canada is a drug war and the reason it id call mafia is due to the mass amounts of Italians involved. Now i will bow out and enjoy the discussion because the happenings in Canada are entertaining to me but I do not have enough knowledge of them to add anything.
I get it....first rule of fight club.

I believe it was felice who several years ago noted a connection between the Gambinos and Montreal. This may have been when Cali was not a "well known" name.

I'm not sure if anybody knows where Sal Catalano has landed since getting out of prison. Could he still have the support to be involved up there?

Laurentian..I'll echo the posted sentiments in welcoming you over here. Thank you for shedding some more light on the ongoing situation in your neck of the woods.

Thanks Doobeez for your kind words. Like many others here on this board may think with reason, the situation here in Montréal is quite confusing, if not chaotic for several years now, but I will try to bring just my honest two-cent opinion on it so that in the hope it could help anyone here to be more understable. :-)

So, what's the take away from this new information? Is there going to be a fall out between the mob and the HA in Montreal?
