What's weird is that they give Senter parole but Bobby Manna is still in there for just conspiring to commit murder. He's also 91 and seemingly less likely to be involved in LCN than Senter if he got out (although this is the Genovese we are talking about).

Was Manna convicted after the parole reforms? I think he was right on the edge (Senter barely got in before the reforms, it might be the case that Manna got in right after).Snakes wrote: ↑Thu Nov 16, 2023 11:31 amWhat's weird is that they give Senter parole but Bobby Manna is still in there for just conspiring to commit murder. Now that I think about it, Manna was denied a compassionate release, but I think some articles confused that with parole. Capeci said parole is still in effect for prisoners convicted of crimes committed before 11/1/1987, which would seemingly eliminate Manna from consideration. From DOJ website:Ivan wrote: ↑Thu Nov 16, 2023 11:36 amWas Manna convicted after the parole reforms? On April 14, 1987, the U.S. Sentencing Commission transmitted its initial sentencing guidelines to Congress. These guidelines took effect, as scheduled, on November 1, 1987, and applied to all defendants whose offenses were committed on or after that date.

Thanks for the info Snakes. I figure Manna was just barely too late to avoid the change.
Imagine how that must be for him psychologically, pushing 100 in jail, and having to deal with the fact that if had only been caught a year or so earlier he'd probably be home by now.

Manna had bad luck, went away in 88 or 89 I think. Just like Chin. Savino died like 3 weeks after testifying against him. Without Savino I think Gigante beats that case.

Guy will flip.
Soft chin, not a hard guy. And obsessed with image (glasses, stogie). He's trying to play a part. He's not a tough guy.
Don't give me your f***ing Manson lamps.

That's how these guys in the casino skim case like Aiuppa, Cerone, etc. got 15-30 year sentences but were going home after 10.Ivan wrote: ↑Thu Nov 16, 2023 12:03 pm Thanks for the info Snakes. I figure Manna was just barely too late to avoid the change.

Yeah he is. Who knows if he still is in good standing with the guys that are running the show as of now, but if I were him I’ll live the rest of my days off the streets. 35 years is a lot of fucking time to go back to fucking around againBrowniety86 wrote: ↑Thu Nov 16, 2023 9:41 amIsn't Senter made into the Luccheses?Shellackhead wrote: ↑Thu Nov 16, 2023 6:30 am Thanks for posting.
