I was sent the same. This is the same club that was held up Sopranos style during a card game in 2012. My assumption is they were doing blow in there, not crack. Says they found straws so they were probably doing lines.

Do you happen to have that article of the robbery from 2012? I was thinking that club was more by the O streets. I drove by Cafe Molisano social club today and it looks closed down now. Sign is not there anymore.

I saved it to a word doc years ago in case they zapped the link, so you'll have to excuse the crappy formatting. Wonder if they closed it down after this last incident, which was in March.

Two gunmen interrupted a card game at an Italian social club on the Northwest Side early Saturday, ordered everyone to put their valuables into a pillow sack and escaped with the loot, according to Officer Amina Greer, a Chicago Police New Affairs spokeswoman.
The gunmen entered the building in the 6800 block of West Addison about 1:30 a.m. Saturday and ordered everyone to lie down on the floor and hand over their valuables, a police source said.
One of the gunmen fired a single shot into a wall as one of the men in the room reached for his gun, “at which point the man reaching for his gun relinquished his weapon,” the source said.
No one was injured, and the robbers made off with “the house purse, table stakes and victims’ property” totaling between $10,000 and $15,000.
The 13 victims — ranging in age from 26 to 34 — were not completely forthcoming with police.
The man who tried to pull his gun would only identify himself as “Pain.”
The robbers wore hooded jackets and hats and their faces were covered with scarves.
The source said police have never had any problems at the social club, which is just north of Elmwood Park. “We never get any calls. It’s always very quiet.”

Hate to rehash the old stuff, but frank jr mentioned in his Scott interview that he saw one of his uncles 302s that said both he and frank were told Accardo himself killed Giancana, I know the theory has been floated before but has it ever been mentioned that Nick said as much? Seems like that would be pretty close to a final say in the matter.

During his conversation with Michael Franzese, Kurt C said that Nick told him that Accardo did it. Kurt said that he retained a close relationship with Nick after FS and that he later told Frank Jr in confidence but that Jr then went and told the media. On the OG pod, Jr said that he was told by Kurt AND that he saw it in the 302s.

We know from DeRose that Accardo sponsored Mooney for membership, and a sponsor is supposed to be personally responsible for the conduct of the inductee. This fits with Rosselli being quoted in the Fratianno book as saying that when he first met Mooney, he was a soldier direct with Accardo. I also doubt that it’s a coincidence that the two were paesani; possibility that their families were connected, even going back to Castelvetrano/Partanna. If Accardo was directly involved in the hit, this would make sense as he may well have seen it as his personal duty to ensure that it was carried out, along with the likelihood that he may have been one of the only men that Mooney would’ve trusted to let into his home.

I think the trust factor is definitely right, they correctly note that he turned his back to whomever killed him...meaning he probably trusted him.

Which means Accardo would have been 69 when he killed Giancana and begs the question- who are some other old made members to commit murder?

Interesting. Something similar happened at Blackie Pesoli's club on the corner of Lexington and Racine in the mid '90s. One of the cops who responded worked security for me and told me about it. The guys politely thanked the police for their interest but declined to the "help". The found the kids later that day. Turns out some kitchen workers from Carm's heard about the weekly Tuesday card game and decided to help themselves. The guys from the club thought it was a joke at first.

Asked around about the club. It’s still open. They were renting part of the club to Latino gangbangers and that is what brought heat to them. They were bringing in hookers and selling drugs. Someone shot off some rounds and that is why the police responded. Supposedly some heavy Outfit guys and politicians frequent the club. Big time gambling goes on there. Club is still open minus the gangbangers

I also see the Spilotro murders as a similar event in that top leaders were in attendance and to some degree participated in a brutal double murder. If Accardo did kill Giancana it was a very symbolic act. The Spilotro murders also come across highly symbolic.

Carlisi was 61 or 62 and a capo when he beat Nick D'Andrea to death with the butt end of a shotgun.
