New Book about Detroit OC

Post by jimmyb »

Just wanted to announce that my book is now available for pre-order.

I put together a website to promote the book and some of my other work: http://jbuccellato.com/

The book looks at the Italian underworld in Detroit circa 1900-1940.

I'm grateful to The Black Hand Forum for giving me the opportunity to plug the book. And special thanks to guys like Rick Warner, Angelo, Scott, and B. for their support of the project.

Anyhow, I hope you'll consider picking up a copy.

Thanks governor, I appreciate that! Yeah, for sure, we'll figure something out and get you a signed copy. I gave you a shout out in the acknowledgements section too.

I just read the first chapter. It's very good specially the discussion of the article by H. Riversdale Coghlan. The section gives a excellent and very clear description of what is Cosa Nostra more than I read from any other writers.

If it's appropriate could you list the description?

Interested in the above but not enough to purchase a book on a subject of minimal interest.
All the best on its success to the author though.

Thanks Toto, I appreciate that. I hope you find the rest of the book interesting as well.

Sonny: thanks for the kind words. Chapters 1,2 and 5 address the Sicilian Mafia (even 3 and 4 to certain extent), so even if you're not as interested in Detroit, you may want to consult those particular sections. Some of those chapters may be digitized on Google books. Ultimately I tie everything back to what was going in Detroit, but I think anyone interested in the overall history of Sicily and mafia may find first half of the book useful.
