I am somewhat skeptical that Ferrara was responsible for twelve hits. But I suppose it's possible. And did the parking spot incident ever really happen?

While I am not sure about the incident in a parking spot did happen Mike. This article mentions that Ferrara was believed to have been involved in the hit on a Dapper Corlito at the request of Prince street which I guess is the Angiulos https://www.newspapers.com/article/the- ... 994363/and here is an early article about Dapper Corlito's murder which they say was part of a gang war in the North End between rival gangs. https://www.newspapers.com/article/atho ... 114173818/

Yes, those were the two that he is suspected of when he was young and making his bones. I have read the articles. The two or three younger kids were ripping off Mob card games etc., but 12 is a lot more than two. I suppose that he could have ordered a few.

Great find David. I'd thought I had seen every Winter Hill Gang surveillance photo until you posted this one--some of the Castle Island surveillance photos are real gems. Wondering what that meeting could have been about given how three of them were informants (Flemmi, Bulger, and Mercurio.)

I believe that the article said that a friend of Ferrara's owed money to WInter Hill and they were working out a payment plan.

Thanks for your message Trafficante and this article talks about what the meeting was about. https://www.newspapers.com/article/the- ... 125948268/

How about these unconfirmed rumors in two articles that Ferrara had been an informant? which are https://www.newspapers.com/article/atho ... 112868291/, / and also https://books.google.com.au/books?id=ku ... ra&f=false and this court filing about Patriarca Junior. https://law.justia.com/cases/federal/di ... 9/mentions that one of the crimes the federal government was going to indict Patriarca Junior was the planned murder of Ferrara as he or Grasso thought that Ferrara was cooperating with the government.

Whether that's true or Patriarca Junior and his underboss Grasso found it easy to believe about their rival Vinnie Ferrara. It's hard to say.

Also what do people make of this earliest article about Angelo Mercurio? https://www.newspapers.com/article/the- ... 126037014/ as this article says that Mercurio was a strong arm man connected with the North End. https://www.newspapers.com/article/the- ... /89948407/

Absolutely amazing book. Honestly one of the best mob books I’ve ever read. Very well written.
