Re: General Chicago Outfit Info Dumping Ground
I want to say Sarno got out in '99. Inendino and DeLaurentis didn't get out until years later, so Sarno being higher up on the pecking order wouldn't be too far out of line. Sarno also had James Marcello's support.
I am also unsure if the Ferriola and Carlisi crews had merged by this point, or if Sarno eliminating Zizzo was the catalyst for that. I've seen a court record that stated Sarno "succeeded Zizzo" which makes it seem like it was already one crew by that point. Not sure if Marcello merged them when he first got out of prison or not. It makes sense to me that if he did, Sarno took advantage of Marcello going away in Family Secrets to kill Zizzo and take the crew over (and possibly the whole Outfit). Still a lot that we don't know about this time period.

Inendino was released in 2008 from the Cicero arrest in 2001. He was out by at least 1995, considering part of that indictment was for paying off Cicero Police Chief Schullo from 1995 to 1998, from his arrest and conviction in the 1980s. I’m pretty sure Inendino was higher ranking then Sarno until at least until his conviction in 2002 or 2003.Snakes wrote: ↑Wed May 03, 2023 7:08 pm I want to say Sarno got out in '99. Well we have Marcello on the prison tapes in 99 0r 2000 talking about Sarno and saying he was a “good boy”…as in a good earner. Marcello was Melrose Park/Carlisi, so does this lend credence to the fact that they were one crew and Sarno was kicking up to Marcello as part of that crew? Or you could read that as Marcello was already overall boss of the outfit, knew what everyone was earning, and was getting tribute as boss.
Re: General Chicago Outfit Info Dumping Ground
Yeah, but a lot can change in 10 years. I'm not sure about before the Cicero bilking bust, but I'm pretty sure that Sarno was the higher-ranking guy until he went away himself.Patrickgold wrote: ↑Wed May 03, 2023 7:38 pmInendino was released in 2008 from the Cicero arrest in 2001. Well, I've done some work on that front, but was gonna wait until the next Youtube video to talk about it. If we don't get that far in the timeline, I'll share it here.Coloboy wrote: ↑Wed May 03, 2023 7:48 pm Well we have Marcello on the prison tapes in 99 0r 2000 talking about Sarno and saying he was a “good boy”…as in a good earner. Interesting, that was the first I’ve ever heard that Jimmy I may have ordered those hits from prison. I would also think that in those years, considering the pedigree of the guys that were hit, there would’ve had to be an even higher authority to sign off on those. Somebody like a Difronzo, or Johnny apes.Patrickgold wrote: ↑Wed May 03, 2023 4:33 pmIt was from my understanding that Tony Calabrese, not related to the others Calabreses, was working directly for Jimmy I. And Jimmy I is the one that had him kill both Tony the Hatch and Ronnie Jarrett. So it is my opinion that Jimmy I was higher up than originally thought in the early 2000s. As far as I know, all three were in prison at the same time in the early to mid 90s. I believe Jimmy got released around 1995 followed by Sarno. Solly D got out in 2006Coloboy wrote: ↑Wed May 03, 2023 2:06 pm I realize that this may be a tough question to answer, but does anyone have insight as to whether Solly D, Jimmy I, and Mike Sarno were all imprisoned together in the mid to late 90's? Furthermore, any clue if they would have been able to meet/interact during this time?
My hunch has always been that when Sarno took over as day to day boss sometime in the mid 2000's, he was really working on behalf of Solly and Jimmy. Or in other words, the Cicero crew had taken over control of the outfit ops as a whole with Sarno being the guy on the street but the other two calling the shots. If they were all imprisoned together, this would make this all the more likely. Jimmy and Solly D always struck me as true street guys dedicated to the life and Sarno would have been the perfect guy to carry out their orders.

I had always heard it was Monteleone that signed off on the Ronnie Jarrett hit. Not sure about the Chiaramonti hit, but I think a lot of guys were pissed at him. I will also say that Marcello mentioned Sarno on the prison tapes much more than he ever mentioned Inendino, if that means anything -- although Inendino had just gone away by the time those recordings were made.Coloboy wrote: ↑Wed May 03, 2023 7:57 pmInteresting, that was the first I’ve ever heard that Jimmy I may have ordered those hits from prison. Well let me clarify. Maybe it came from above Inendino but it was widely known that Tony Calabrese was Inendino’s guy. Inendino brought him into the Outfit and used him for dirty work. Inendino would had to order him to do it.Coloboy wrote: ↑Wed May 03, 2023 7:57 pmInteresting, that was the first I’ve ever heard that Jimmy I may have ordered those hits from prison. Also, Inendino was not in prison when those murders happened. He started his prison sentence for the Cicero indictment in feb of 2003. Jarrett was murdered in 1999 and The Hatch in 2001.

I'm pretty sure that Frank said Monteleone had Jarrett killed, but I can't remember.Patrickgold wrote: ↑Wed May 03, 2023 8:19 pmWell let me clarify. Fake edit: I just remembered (can't remember where exactly I saw it) that Jarrett was upset that Toots Caruso had signed off on Richie Catezone to handle the Chinatown sports books instead of Jarrett and the subsequent discontent led to Jarrett taking bets with his son, which pissed off the Chinatown guys.

Did they ever leave NW Indiana? The Chinatown crew mostly deals in the gray area of things. They’re big into trucking and and a very large well known trucking company does all of the import containers for the Chinese food companies that line 18th street, back around cermak. III has kids from the neighborhood that he’s known for years in his crew and while they’re a little older than me, I wouldn’t fuck with them. I know two guys who are affiliated with III and they got cushy streets and sanitation jobs basically out of high school (it’s essentially a no show job). PolackTony who’s Spina’s driver these days, I seen him up at Salerno’s couple of times. He was with Spina the night Aberdeen got shot yo.
Re: General Chicago Outfit Info Dumping Ground
I checked Frank Jr's book and he said Jarrett had been ordered to meet with Monteleone by Toots Caruso and DiForti. Like most hits, it usually isn't any one thing that gets a guy killed, but an accumulation of things. Jr. went on to say that when Jimmy Marcello transferred to Milan and spoke with Sr., he intimated that Jarrett's unsanctioned drug deals also had something to do with it.
So, we have three issues with Jarrett that probably contributed to him being killed:
1. Continuing to take sports bets after he was told by Toots that Catezone would handle them
2. Unsanctioned drug deals
3. Refusing a sit-down with the boss of the family

So Caruso took back the rackets and retired into the sunset according to Burnstein, amirite?chicagodog wrote: ↑Wed May 03, 2023 10:34 pmDid they ever leave NW Indiana? Wasn't Frank Schweihs also involved with Chiaramonte right up until he was gunned down? He was with Grand Ave/Northside and kind of interesting he was in the mix with Melrose Park guys - I believe reading that they had a verbal altercation where Schweihs almost hit him.

I just want to be clear here that I am NOT Christy Spina’s driver lol. In fact, I was in the Bronx, NY, on the night that a guy got shot in front of the Aberdeen Tap and nowhere near Chicago. Not sure if this was a typo or referring to someone else, or what, but I have no affiliation whatsoever with any of the Spinas.chicagodog wrote: ↑Wed May 03, 2023 10:34 pm PolackTony who’s Spina’s driver these days, I seen him up at Salerno’s couple of times.
