Nice, I didn't know it went back that far. Anyone know if it was always tied up with the Genovese family?

I always enjoy looking at old pictures, they don't have to be related to anything in particular though, it's just seeing something from years past that's cool, imho.

Was this club always Genovese connected? When you enlarge the photo you see three people, obviously the old guy sitting on the sideways chair so he can prop himself up better, then the guy inside through the door and that other old guy that you cannot tell if he's inside standing behind the counter or if he's standing outside and all you're seeing is his reflection in the glass. The club looks more open and real then when Gigante took it over as the Triangle Club, seeing a drawing and hearing descriptions of the place when it was Gigante's it seemed like it was a nothing of a club, cold-dark-dreary looking with a few tables and bar area. Damn, between his club and his sick act he must have been miserable and depressing to hang out with, sucking the life right out of you. This club actually looks inviting and real.

A more recent photo and appraisal, Zillow has the building worth about a million dollars less but Zillow is always under.

In this picture you can see the same handrail that the old guy was propping himself up on, sitting on that chair.

Same here. I love seeing how things used to be. 8-)

It's a new morning in America... fresh, vital. The old cynicism is gone. We have faith in our leaders. We're optimistic as to what becomes of it all. It really boils down to our ability to accept. We don't need pessimism. There are no limits.

Frank Condo "Frankie California" and Federico Giovanelli "Fritzy" in the wiretaps on smoking gun website call Gigante "vampire" and "he sucks the blood from your bones." The club at that time also had bad damp and Frankie California used to complain about it and how its cold.

haha. Hadn't heard of this before, the transcript from wmob:

Sure, the Triangle Social Club is the heart of America's most powerful organized crime family. But that doesn't mean the Genovese gang's soldiers and capos don't enjoy a good laugh. Fritzy recalls a recent gag he pulled armed with a can of fart spray. Frank wasn't amused. (1:00)

Listen here:

FRITZY: Federico "Fritzy" Giovanelli
FRANK: Frank "Frankie California" Condo

FRITZY: Who was farting in there that day, Saturday?

FRANK: Oh, you shouldn't have put that medicine that, that, choked up my whole lungs.

FRITZY: Oh, you blame that now?

FRANK: I couldn't breathe.

FRITZY: You blame that?

FRANK: Yeah, you put that chemical in there, that killed me altogether.

FRITZY: He showed you the can?

FRANK: Yeah, I couldn't breathe after. Some kind of chemical stuff they sprayed that's a fart medicine. It's got a chemical in it.

FRITZY: Nah, it's a fuckin' fart.

FRANK: It don't even smell like that. Know what it smells like? A chemical.

FRITZY: No, it smells like a fuckin' broccoli fart! Broccoli shit.

FRANK: Nah, it don't smell that way. It smells like a dirty chemical, some kinda chemical.

FRITZY: No, yeah?

FRANK: Yeah, that's what I thought it was. A chemical.

FRITZY: I'll tell ya...

FRANK: ...from the outside.

FRITZY: I'll tell ya, Ciro walked in, Ciro walked in first. "Who the fuck shit?" Ya hear? That's how bad it is.

FRANK: Yeah, but it's like a chemical when you're in there.

FRITZY: Somebody you don't like you oughta let, let that go, you know.

FRANK: I start choking after a while.

FRITZY: No kidding.
