Fazzini was first proposed for membership in the 1990s by Peter Caprio until he found out he was making bets with bookmakers and not paying (specifically Daniel D'Ambrosia and Vito Alberti). Caprio then chased him but Fazzini was worried that he might be killed. Caprio testified that Fazzini was then telling people on the street that nothing better happen to him because his brother was a cop.
Fazzini was then sponsored by Joseph Licata and inducted in 2007 at a ceremony conducted by Joseph Ligambi. Fazzini accompanied Licata to two meetings recorded by Nicholas Stefanelli - the first being the big meeting between Ligambi and John Gambino. Fazzini got caught up in the Ligambi bust in the early 2010s and spent a few years behind bars. After he got out, he was on the payroll of crooked scrap yard dealer Richard Santaniello along with fellow North Jersey crew member Nicholas Olivieri.

Thomas Ricciardi’s father was Alphonse “Beansy” Ricciardi, an old-time Newark criminal.
He was born in 1916 and grew up on 15th Ave, 1-2 blocks away from the Pizzolato bros, Salvatore Lombardino, and Thomas Campisi. Another nearby neighbor was Genovese member Rinaldo Reino whom he was later arrested with.
He had arrests for gambling and theft; he died in 1986.

Re: fazzini
Yes Fazzini runs day to day of the crew.
He also has spent time in jail for a stabbing in Union City back in the 1990s and when he was growing up he went to prison for Manslaughter because he killed someone in a fight with a punch were I heard the guy hit his head on the pavement in a freak accident or something like that and died which Big Lou felt awful over.
I also believe Big Lou grew up actually in the City of Newark in a tough neighborhood and I believe he has a shore house in Toms River for summers just like Scoops.
Big Lou lives in Caldwell or West Caldwell now these days, I can’t remember off the top of my head but he does well, is an earner. His wife does well too financially.
The North Jersey Crew does well, the top guys do at least they have a huge sports betting package, work closely with NY and other North Jersey Crews, and have been around forever. Scoops is a multimillionaire a few times over.

Re: fazzini
I remember reading on the boards back in the day from one of the more Jersey-centric 'street guy' posters that Fazzini grew up in Stephen Crane Village in Newark - same place as Frankie ValliNJShore4Life wrote: ↑Fri Mar 10, 2023 12:45 pm

Why do Jersey people sometimes lump Tom's River into being a part of the Shore and refer to people summering in Tom's River? Seems a little ...generous? lol.
Respectfully asking - it's over 5 miles inland and while I'm not super familiar with too much south of Manalapan basically, I know that to get to Shore points from Tom's River you have to drive at least 20 minutes on a good day.
