BTW, John Binder was NOT the source. It probably came from an ex-agent or former LE like Snakes said. Considering that Goudie has been on TV for decades he probably has a lot of former LE contacts.
It almost certainly did NOT come directly from the FBI. We all know how the FBI redacts files and there are no redactions on the document Goudie shared.

I'm just shocked the Outfit would not have found that out - especially in the 60s and 70s when they had so many law enforcement folks - including an alleged member of the FBI - in their pocket. I just wonder if there is more to the story - as the Outfit seemed to make their own rules too, I wouldn't be surprised if more of these made guys did the same things at certain points - coordinating the information they provided, etc.

Depending on who he talked about, they may not have given a shit.

You’ve always had the rumor that Kurt was given the ok to testify against his dad…rumor of course. But they’ve always been there.

A few active guys testified in Family Secrets, no? Talarico, etc.? I just wonder whether this idea that any rat/informant/etc. is automatically taken out and killed is not the case everywhere - and especially Chicago. I think some of these guys were in a larger game of disinformation - and a lot of them like Scarpa were Machiavellian the way they went about being informants or testifying in court (Michael Marcello also did this against Ambrose). Jimmy Inendino really seems like a gangsters gangster in his younger days, but far more lucrative scams in his later years - especially bilking the city of Cicero, IL. I just think he was potentially using the FBI as much as they were using him and perhaps that was a larger trend in this time period.

From a few pages back about Cerone and Aiuppa getting released and Fosco. Fosco said Cerone was kept informed about how well off Difronzo and Andriacchi were doing and planned on taking some when he was released. Aiuppa wanted to have Cerone wacked now that Accardo was dead. All that didnt amount to much as Cerone was very sick upon his release and died within a week of release.

He also stated that DiFronzo and Andriacchi were nervous when they knew the former bosses were probably comming home. He compared them to acting like teenagers when the parents came home from vacation.

It is possible that there was some type of "hard feelings" between the two since 1973 (probably during his imprisonment and after Cerone got released from prison)

Cerone was known as a mean drunk who abused others during his sprees. According to Fosco, Aiuppa had Willie Messino spy on Cerone. Prison probably saved his life.

I think both Jack and "Skippy" had the same problem

In the book Casino, Pileggi tells a very not so flattering story about a drunk Cerone basically trying to force a waitress at an Outfit bar to give him a blow job in front of everyone.

BTW, Scott has an op-ed up on his site. He said the FBI created 302s if they brought a guy in for questioning and he gave them one answer. I don't know if that's enough to get you an informant number, but it could be. I can't attest to the 302s from that time period, so I don't have a reason to doubt Scott, here. I disagree that it was the FBI that leaked it, however.

It's a pretty interesting piece from Scott. Mostly about his theory that DiFronzo was a rat the whole time at the top.
