After he invested in casinos what rackets was he involved in? Did he pretty much go legit at that point? Who was his muscle? Did he kick up to any families? Thanks.

He might be the most wealthy. Or was. That’s not an exaggeration. They couldn’t do garbage anymore and they got in to recycle paperboard, all American Recylcing, bareli’s in Secaucus, the real estate around canal street. His nephews would open a club or bar and run it into the ground. But the family has more money than you can imagine. All those 90s yankee teams went to Ponte’s on debrosses after every title. Ang was close with joe torre because they grew up together. Serious money, serious power. Only reason he didn’t get his button was because they wanted to keep him as clean as possible. He had more power than 95% of them.

Carmine Della Cava is very wealthy
There are probably a bunch of real estate owners we don’t know about. I remember that Gambino associate that did garbage sold a tiny 1 story bldg in Manhattan he bought for his business in 70s for $20M as you could build up.
If someone has 2-3 of these, it’s a liquid $50M as a lot of guys did gambling/ loan sharing and bought real estate .
That Bonanno assoc guy that was killed i think had a $50m real estate portfolio.
Even today this is what most guys do , gambling and real estate, no threat of jail , just a wonderful life

It's called brains douche bag. He made over $100 million bootlegging...then invested in the future of legalized gambling. Who gives a fuck if he wasn't kicking up to anybody? That means shit. He had it all to himself.Guest wrote: ↑Thu Feb 23, 2023 2:28 pmAfter he invested in casinos what rackets was he involved in? Did he pretty much go legit at that point? Who was his muscle? Per court records and plea agreement, Lenine "Lenny" Strollo, Pittsburgh Capo in Charge of Youngstown rackets had $12.6 million in cash and another $15 million in real estate assets that he was allowed to keep for his cooperation. That's a significant amount of money for a member from a smaller crime family.

He was with Frank Milano and the Mayfield Road Mob and Jewish Syndicate. He had bootlegging and many illegal casinos in Ohio, Kentucky and a few other places. When he made his move to Vegas, he was basically legitimate but with many connections on the dark side. He did what Michael Corleone set out to do in GF2.baldo wrote: ↑Sat Feb 25, 2023 3:23 amok, so long story short, after bootlegging he was basically legit?JCB1977 wrote: ↑Fri Feb 24, 2023 8:52 pmMy apologies dude…thought you were playing another game. Ross Prio Jr. and Joanne Prio Avery. The son and daughter of one of the Outfit's richest high level members. They allegedly inherited dozens of millions of dollars after their father's death in 1972, including numerous legitimate enterprises and real estate around the whole country. Many members of the Outfit were known for extorting families after the deaths of their fathers, brothers or grandpas (made guys or associates) etc., but they werent able to touch Prio's family.

Re: generational wealth
Any insights into the Detroit Family? I know I’ve read about some key guys Tocco or Zerelli selling real estate for substantial amounts, and buying/selling a country club(?).
Re: generational wealth
Over the years Moe Dalitz had become very rich, FORBES magazine even placed him as one of the 400 richest Americans in 1981 with an estimated fortune of $110 million. He eventually passed away at the ripe old age of 90 in 1989. Much of his fortune was donated to several Las Vegas charities and his only child Suzanne Brown. https://www.retrokimmer.com/2013/04/moe ... er-in.htmlbaldo wrote: ↑Sat Feb 25, 2023 3:23 amok, so long story short, after bootlegging he was basically legit?JCB1977 wrote: ↑Fri Feb 24, 2023 8:52 pmMy apologies dude…thought you were playing another game.
