Re: Montreal Mafia status - Post Rizzuto Era
In this article about three individuals extorting a victim and collecting on his original $15,000 debt that ballooned to around $675,000, there are minor mentions of Antonio Pietrantonio, well-known criminal lawyer Joseph La Leggia, the now-closed Grinderz in Mile End, and Cafe Danesi (firebombed twice in two weeks in 2009).

A poster on the other forum where I posted the article link pointed out an error I made: the victim's original $15,000 debt ballooned to $140,000, not $675,000.

A picture is worth a thousand words. Three pictures of the same item? It’s still worth only a thousand words.

Re: Montreal Mafia status - Post Rizzuto Era
This is persons who died between November 2021 to October 2022 and whose funerals were taken care by Loreto funeral complex. And well well well, there is some familiar names here such as Arcuri, Cammalleri, Di Maulo, Macri, Marabella, Messina, Morello or Enzo Porco.PogueMahone wrote: ↑Sat Mar 11, 2023 7:55 am Maybe I’m a little slow but I don’t understand the implication. Can you please elaborate?
I thought this last was dead by then by apparently not, thanks for the share antimafia

No worries, Fab.
Giovanna Arcuri Casola, the sister of deceased Bonanno members Giuseppe Arcuri (New York) and Domenico Arcuri Sr. (Quebec), had her funeral-home visitation in June 2021 at the Urgel Bourgie instead of at the Loreto:
https://www.urgelbourgie.com/en/funeral ... uri-casola
Her sister-in-law Carmela (née Alfano) is mentioned in the obit, as is Carmela’s husband (Domenico Arcuri Sr.). Pierre de Champlain† had some suspicion that Carmela was related to Nick Alfano of the Bonannos, but based on the family trees I’ve conducted for both the Arcuris and Alfanos, I’m fairly certain M. de Champlain was in possession of some bad intel — not his fault. Going back several generations, there are a number of Alfanos in the Arcuri family tree.
One of the condolences under the obit is from her niece Josephine Fanelli (née Arcuri, she is the daughter of the aforementioned Giuseppe of New York). Although Josephine’s married name is quite common — just do a search here on the forum — I’ve wondered whether her husband is related to the Giuseppe Fanelli and son Michael, both of New Jersey, who acted as bodyguards for Tony Magi.
