Edgardo Greco Captured after 16 years on the run

This article remind me something that Anna Sergi said yesterday on Twitter: Press talk about greco as like if he was a sort of Matteo Messina Denaro, while he was very likely a low ranking member or maybe even not a 'ndranghetista https://twitter.com/annasergi/status/16 ... 2185476096

he was a killer, he dissolved people in acid during a mafia war in Cosenza, i think he was a Ndrangheta member but not a boss

I have no idea why this arrest got so much coverage, got more coverage than Raffaele imperiale for example, who was one of most powerful drug traffickers in Europe. He was indeed a low ranking 'ndranghetista,

I can speak only from a French point of view, medias here talked about it because the story happened here and is quite unusual even if obviously it's not the first time a mafioso is arrested in France (very far from it but I guess you all know this guys ^^)

For the rest of the word I guess it's because Messina Denaro was arrested only few weeks ago.

the guy was not a ndranghetista, the people he worked for are loosely connected to the 'ndranghta themselves, in Cosenza there are urban gangs (especially 17 years ago) not ndrangheta.

i thought all the criminal groups in Cosenza were absorbed into the ndrangheta

Back in 2008, it was reported that 32 members of the Ndrangheta were detained from a clan in Cosenza??

The 2008 article refers to a group that has nothing to do with the clans of Greco so I am not sure what is it that you are trying to say? That there were some connections between a clan in Cosenza and the 'ndrangheta foes not mean that all OCGs in Cosenza were Ndrangheta. Cosenza CITY (the province is different) has had a very different OCG story. By 2017 the situation was already different.
