Thanks to m2w for posting:
Boiardo said it 2 months ago, he said he was sick and that they would arrest him in order to a present to the actual government. He also said that it has something to do with life sentence law. Full interview: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5vYTD7uDy0A
"May a little gift arrive?...Maybe, let's assume, that a Matteo Messina Denaro is very ill and makes a deal to surrender himself to make a sensational arrest?"

I wonder if he was given up by the guys in the Camorra who recently flipped? I presume it's unlikely...

Trapani is powerful as Palermo if not even more under Matteo Messina Denaro , he had the last word in every important decision , not Palermo. When they wanted to kill Di Matteo , he gave the order and said same people that killed Falcone and Borsellino wanted him dead , what did Palermo do ? Just followed orders. Also Trapani is very well connected with local masonic lodges like Iside 2.
Re: Matteo Messina Denaro Arrested
So he didn't get facial reconstruction plastic surgery after all, that always sounded like a fairytale. OTOH the cancer story checks out. He really looks like shit if I didn't know he's 60 I'd say more like 80. Doesn't seem like he's long for this world which will only fuel speculations of all sorts. Italian media is treating this as moon landing type of news, it's a huge PR success for the new government. He's not that well-known in the States but in Italy MMD reached Capone/Gotti level of fame his name recognition is on par with that of a movie star.

I'm saying..... it's documented the Palermo dons were communicating through that Inzerilllo guy, I forget his name, with pizzini. Denaro was said to have the final say in large matters..... is this not correct or what?Strax wrote: ↑Mon Jan 16, 2023 6:07 amTrapani is powerful as Palermo if not even more under Matteo Messina Denaro , he had the last word in every important decision , not Palermo. Mafia, Palermo-New York axis: blow to the Torretta clan. «It was the hub of pizzini for Matteo Messina Denaro»
by Alessio Ribaudo
There are meetings in country cottages away from prying eyes, public procurement in the background, the Sicily-USA axis with the excellent arrivals of "ambassadors" of New York's "la cosa nostra" (Our thing) welcomed by the Sicilian picciotti in a villa with swimming pool on the Caribbean sea of Mondello and a cadeaux in the bedroom: a couple of grams of pure cocaine. However, there are also stories of theft, damage and attempted extortion. It is not the screenplay of Martin Scorsese's latest film but what we read in the papers of the latest investigation conducted by the investigative unit of the Carabinieri of Palermo which has Torretta as its epicenter . A small town with four thousand inhabitants, at the gates of the Sicilian capital, buthistorically and strategically important in the chessboard of the mafia . In fact, the Torretta families are included in the Palermo district of Passo di Rigano and historically they have always had a strong bond with the clans on the banks of the Hudson, so much so that they have an important role in "guaranteeing" the return to Italy of the so-called "escaped". The derogatory nickname given to the Palermo bosses at the end of the second bloody mafia war. forced to flee Sicily to escape the lead of Totò Riina's Corleonesi. A US-Sicily axis never brokenwhich, upon the death in prison of the supporter of the massacre mafia, regained strength. "A bond that constitutes a key to understanding the criminal phenomenon that spans generations - explained General Arturo Guarino, provincial commander of the Palermo carabinieri - and remains an element of mutual strength and operational influence".
The arrests and the turmoil
For this reason, the District Anti-Mafia Directorate of Palermo requested and obtained that the prison doors be opened for nine, house arrest was ordered for a tenth, while an eleventh suspect was forced to stay in his municipality of residence. . The accusations are heavy and range, for various reasons, from mafia-type criminal association to drug possession through personal aiding and abetting and attempted extortion with the aggravating circumstance of the mafia method. The cross-section that emerges from the investigators' analyzes is that there is great excitement within the Palermo families.
According to the military, there is also "a constant, albeit bloodless, internal conflict" in Torretta. Disagreements recorded, recently, also in the investigations that have disarticulated some criminal organizations of Partinico, another "historic" territory of the mafia. In today's operation, the role of Raffaele Di Maggio, 58, son of the historic mafia exponent Giuseppe «Piddu» Di Maggio, who died in January 2019, stands out. His loyalists were Ignazio Antonino Mannino, 64, also with managerial and organizational functions.
Then that of Calogero Badalamenti, 50, who had been entrusted with control over the territory of Bellolampo, and Lorenzino Di Maggio, 70, released from prison in August 2017 and subjected to special surveillance with the obligation to stay in Carini. Furthermore, Calogero Caruso, known as Merendino, 84 years old, placed under house arrest and already considered by the investigators to be a top figure in the Torretta family and his nephew Filippo Gambino, 55 years old. Calogero Christian Zito, who shuttled between Sicily and the USA. "Beside them, the investigative activities carried out in the direction of two construction entrepreneurs from Torretta, the Puglisi brothers, fully included in the dynamics investigated - explain the carabinieri of Palermo - allowed to detect the socio-criminal cross-section of the mafia reality of the area". Among the leaders also Calogero Christian Zito who lives in the United States and is wanted.

"Our thing"
According to the Dda, the mafiosi of Torretta had regained their old criminal "calibre" and were now able to deal on an equal footing with those of Palermo. All thanks also to the strong link with leading exponents of the US "La cosa nostra" capable of influencing, through their "ambassadors", the criminal structures of Torretta.
To the point of giving rise to tensions after the murder of the New York mafia boss Francesco "Frank" Calì, a father from Palermo who has always been considered the link with those of Sicily who called him "O Frankie". The fifty-three-year-old who for Americans, on the other hand, was the infamous "Frankie Boy", husband of the niece of the Italian-American boss Giovanni "John" Gambino, and alleged boss, since 2015, of the powerful and historic Gambino family. Shy, miles away from John Gotti's style, he was shot at 53 years old in front of his villa on a hill in Staten Island, in the residential area of Todt Hill, with a breathtaking view of the Verrazzano bridge. An execution that seemed particularly ferocious with Frankie Boy who died, hours later, in a bed in the Staten Island university hospital, on the evening of February 13, 2019. In the world of Italian-American organized crime it was the first excellent murder since 1985 when John Gotti, to succeed at the top of the Gambino family, eliminated «Big» Paul Castellano
The death of Frankie Boy also worried the people of Torretta who, immediately afterwards, instructed one of the sons of the suspects from Torretta to fly to the Big Apple to figure out what to do with elements believed to belong to the local mafia organization, including an "ambassador" noticed by the investigators in the hinterland of Torretta in September 2018. «The permanence of the man in the Torretta area was guaranteed - say the carabinieri -, among others, by the Puglisi brothers who, dividing the roles, took care of picking him up at the airport and guaranteed his stay in a luxurious villa with swimming pool in Mondello, where a few grams of cocaine was given as a welcome sign. During the period spent on the island, the emissary participated in a meeting at the home of Raffaele Di Maggio in Torretta and held a second confidential meeting in the Baucina area». The son of the suspect, who returned from his overseas trip, recounted the climate of profound tension created on the American side, expressing his assessments on the possible succession of Calì at the helm of the American mafia structure.
In Torretta, the bugs also picked up comments on the matter from some of the suspects who knew Calì personally and who, at first, had feared that the episode could generate a dangerous escalation of violence in which other subjects risked being directly involved. close to him, considered active in the American mafia context. Instead, it was later discovered that the boss was killed by Anthony Comello, then a 24-year-old worker in his father's construction company. A man, untied from the clans, who then provided different versions of the ambush.
Basically, he said that Cali was against having a relationship with a woman of his family and that he was under the effects of marijuana when he fired. According to one of his reconstructions, that night in 2019, he deliberately bumped into the victim's car in front of the villa, then rang the bell asking Calì to come out. Here he handed him the license plate of the car that had come off due to the collision and, after a discussion, he took out his gun and killed him. The villa's cameras filmed the scene and the fingerprints left by the shooter on the license plate confirmed that it was him. Also avoiding a possible mafia war to search for the perpetrators and instigators. Frankie Boy was buried in the Moravian Cemetery Mausoleum of Staten Island, not far from Paul Castellano and today the tombstone is simply engraved «Francesco Calì 1965-2019».
«pizzini»
Of the rediscovered criminal "prestige" of the Torrettese family there is also a non-secondary detail. For the accusations, from Torretta, "pizzini" also passed for the then fugitive boss, now in life imprisonment, Salvatore Lo Piccolo and for the primrose Matteo Messina Denaro. According to the investigators, Lorenzino Di Maggio played the role of collector and sorter of the messages. This was revealed by the collaborator of justice Antonino Pipitone according to which he would have been the "postman" of the messages for the mafia boss of Castelvetrano, in the Trapani area. "Most of the pizzini both in the province and in the districts of Palermo that had to reach the super-fugitive always reached him", claimed the "repentant": "The tickets were delivered to him where he worked or at his mother's house". Pipitone revealed that the «pizzini» were then delivered by Di Maggio to Calogero Caruso, «who in turn delivered them to Campobello di Mazara, using the car from the Municipality of Torretta where Caruso worked at the time». Di Maggio, according to what the investigating magistrate Filippo Serio writes, constituted "a point of reference" for the clan "intervening materially and authoritatively in the internal dynamics of the family and maintaining confidential discussions with some top exponents of other territorial branches of the Cosa Nostra". justice
The infiltrations
In the reconstruction of the investigators there is no shortage of infiltrations in the economy: from construction, to agriculture, to livestock breeding through the imposition of brokers in sales and in the dynamics of buying animals and land. Furthermore, there would have been a "widespread interference in the dynamics relating to public and private work orders in Torretta and in the neighboring municipalities of Capaci, Isola delle Femmine and Carini, as well as in some districts of Palermo". Prior to the commissioning of the municipality of Torretta, decided in 2019, there would also have been "the intention of infiltrating the local municipal administration, still a commissioner, and of directing the related administrative decisions, as well as of changing the outcome of the municipal elections, providing, in during the 2018 administrative elections, support for candidates of opposing sides". For General Arturo Guarino with these investigations the carabinieri "are trying to free and give dignity to a community that too many times and for too long has been under the pressure of an unbearable pall from the mafia".
They referred to Denaro as the " primrose", the 1st flower to bloom.... 1st dote... so to speak...
So what about all this exactly?
