Obviously he had a large crew, but did any Capo have a larger crew in the Gambinos in this period?
Did Jimmy Failla have the biggest crew in the Gambinos? 1980s

Re: Did Jimmy Failla have the biggest crew in the Gambinos? 1980s
I think he had the largest crew that we can identify. Capodecina Giuseppe Traina was identified as having ~40 guys under him. He died in 1979, and was succeeded by his son Mario. Some guys may have died, but if the ~40 is to be believed, Mario likely had at least 25 guys left, but we can't identify all of them.
Another Capodecina, Alfred 'Freddy' Eppolito was identified by Santantonio as having ~30 guys under him. The Eppolito crew was later merged with the Castellano Crew. Combined with some of the guys from Vincent Corrao, Gaggi may have had more than we know about.

About 1/3 of the guys went with Tommy Bilotti in 81 so Failla's crew shrunk a bit in the 80s.

Did a source place Oxie Marino with this crew? He started out with the Traina crew Manninos and was with that crew when he replaced Mario Traina in the early 90s.
