It's a little strange, however, that the property transferred from a Cavallaro family member in January, 2021 for $11,000; then transferred to a different-named person, again for $11,000 in March of 2021; then transferred a third time to yet another different person again for $11,000 in October of 2022

I wonder what the cheapest house would be in a neighborhood that is still nice in NE Ohio? I've seen condos on the Gold Coast in Lakewood for less than 100 grand. I'm 43 and have never owned a home before, but I'm thinking about it and would probably buy in NE Ohio. (Anywhere else I'd enjoy living is too expensive.)

Most of the money from the city of Youngstown moved to the suburbs in the mid 1970’s.

Depends where…Chagrin Falls is Uber expensive so is Orange near where the Lonardo’s were at. Places like Hudson, Aurora, Westlake, Hunting Valley, Rocky River, Bay Village, Shaker Heights etc are very expensive. In Youngstown, places like Poland and Canfield are more expensive…but in the city, you could get a stately home for $200k, 5000 sq ft along 5th Ave where all the manufacturing money was for decades prior to the steel collapse

Most of the money from the city of Youngstown moved to the suburbs in the mid 1970’s.

Those old cities - the old rich Cleveland, Detroit, Youngstown, etc. - are still around, they're just out in the suburbs now, with the wealthy people only going in town to do big city things like see the orchestra or tour Little Italy or whatever. This map is pretty interesting, it's a development map of Cuyahoga county comparing 1948 to 2002. Note that that population of the county was about the same in those two years.
