A quick Google search shows that there have been 3500+ murders in Philly in the last ten years, and maybe 1 or 2 mob related. I'm not advocating for these mob guys, but the priorities there seem a little off. Some of these street goons legitimately have 10 or 20 bodies on them but you never hear about it nationally when they get locked up.
In the other cases the shooters tend to be black, so when you hear about it its "gun violence" to the media, not the fault of the person.

It was also recently reported that you are 3 times more likely to be shot and killed in Killadelphia (and Chicongo) than you are in Afghsnistan or Iraq. Die-verity is our strength.

It's a new morning in America... fresh, vital. The old cynicism is gone. We have faith in our leaders. We're optimistic as to what becomes of it all. It really boils down to our ability to accept. We don't need pessimism. There are no limits.

There are so many brilliant lawyers out there that work w unions, appellate work to name a few wildly disparate types of law.

UTC- are the US Attorneys far better than the ones on the state level?

After reading your posts for 20 years, you seem to possess a shitload of knowledge about lawyers and the justice system in general.
Q: What doesn't work when it's fixed?
A: A jury!

The criteria for becoming a U.S. Attorney is far more selective in terms of academic background and performance, partially because the government is competing in a far more competitive employer's market for these lawyers. Also, the lawyers are analyzing and trying far more complicated areas of law, such as the criminal aspects of antitrust law, securities laws, international issues, etc, as well as supervising the legality of FBI, DEA and ATF investigations, rather than determining how many times the uncle abused his niece. That's why a U.S. Attorney position is a common pathway to a litigation department position with a mega-firm.

Wasn't there a post here (or maybe it was somewhere else) that listed where all the wiseguys were serving their federal time? Anybody have it?
