Here’s something, Joe Paterno is listed as part of the “Accardi Mob” from a 1948 document.
Officially, at this point, he would have been a Mangano Family member/associate. It’s interesting that the feds perception was that he was in this “Accardi Mob”.

I've never seen the movie w Vin Diesel
On the topic, I don't get why his dad was made so late. Dominick "Tommy Adams" DiNorscio was born in 1909 and lived at the heart of the Newark Family's neighborhood (409 S 10th St) but wound up getting made in the '60s

I believe diNors io was made in the 1950s/early 1960s.

It's a new morning in America... fresh, vital. The old cynicism is gone. We have faith in our leaders. We're optimistic as to what becomes of it all. It really boils down to our ability to accept. We don't need pessimism. There are no limits.

I'm not sure if this has been brought up before, but Nicolo Schiro's brother in law Salvatore Grippi and future San Jose member Tony Scavuzzo were witnesses to Settimo Accardi's naturalization in 1944.

That’s actually really huge!thekiduknow wrote: ↑Wed Dec 21, 2022 9:50 am I'm not sure if this has been brought up before, but Nicolo Schiro's brother in law Salvatore Grippi and future San Jose member Tony Scavuzzo were witnesses to Settimo Accardi's naturalization in 1944.
Sam Accardi wasn’t short on friends or family who could have witnessed his naturalization. This means that they had a pre-existing, probably close, relationship.
Paired with his arrest with Charles Matranga and the fact that he lived in the middle of all the other Newark figures, all signs are pointing to him being a member.
Re: What do We Know about the Newark Family?
Another good detail.
The Bonanno ties to the Newark Family were strong yet we only know of Riela who joined them. Wouldn't be surprised if there were some old timers too we've never heard of or can't confirm.

Re: What do We Know about the Newark Family?
The Bonanno family seemed to have a very small presence in the area.
This Bonanno member who hangs around Bloomfield Ave was probably Grippi. If they had any other members, they would have to have been totally unknown sleepers (even more than Grippi).
I haven’t found anyone in Essex County who would be a suspected Bonanno guy

Grippi died in 1961, so not sure if he was who they were referring to .JoelTurner wrote: ↑Wed Dec 21, 2022 11:13 pm This Bonanno member who hangs around Bloomfield Ave was probably Grippi. If they had any other members, they would have to have been totally unknown sleepers (even more than Grippi).
John Caltagirone was a Zicarelli associate who seems to have operated near that area. He grew up in Bloomfield, but lived in Bergen County by the 1950 census.JoelTurner wrote: ↑Wed Dec 21, 2022 11:13 pm

He operated the World Wide Car Systems rental company for Zicarelli which was based on Bloomfield Ave before moving to the West New York area:
He's listed as a soldier under Zicarelli in the 1981 NJ hearings:
I'm not entierily positive he was who Catena was referring to, since it seems clear he was an associate at the time but an interesting connections.
And it wouldn't be the Black Hand if I didn't mention that his father is from Agrigento and mother from Palermo.

This is interesting, I hadn’t really heard of Caltagirone
Re: What do We Know about the Newark Family?
Where in Agrigento was Caltagirone from?
