I know Arcuri? had a social club on east 75th street.
Who else was active on the Upper East Side?
I saw Jackie nose once on 86th and 3rd at papaya king lol.
anyone / anything went on btwn like 50th street and 96th street?
Btw- i was looking at lcn bios (amaizing site that i found from here) and canont believe jackie nose was inducted that early- has he ever made money?
Wasn't he around handsome jack? BTW he was shot in front of lenox hill hospital on 77th and Lex which would be roughly 3- 4blocks from where Arcuri? had his social club on 75th. Or am I thinking of another old timer that had social club on 75th?

bunch of restaurants up there def under wing. i got family lives up there. was a spot called "johnnys" dont know if its still around but they were with somebody. friends of my family but was too young to really know whats what at that time. either way someone was working the area early 2000s. today im sure like everywhere else its slowed down but someones somewhere for sure. i know im stating the obvious but im curious as well
Re: UES
definely some restaurants but I wouldn't think they're straight up shaken down. if fthey get their hooks in a manhattan restaurant, i bet its for a gambling / shark debt. Think about all the money on PArk and 5th ave alone! tell me those guys don't bet. Every guy I know down here in TriBeCa plays. Where was Johnnny's?

Yep. That's the place. Derek Jeter was always in there back in the day.

I am from up there. I only knew of Quattro Gatti being 'connected' and have also seen Jackie Nose at Chipotle on 85th and 3rd . All the other stuff like Arcuri's club and any other connected restaurants were way before my time. In D'Arco's book it mentions that Sandro's on 82nd was connected to Baratta but I feel like that may have been an error and they actually meant to say Quattro Gatti. Sandros never really felt like a connected type of place and it's a much different crowd. There was an older guy in the building I grew up in who carried himself like a gangster, was always meeting guys talking on the street (and even saw him meeting guys in our laundry room before) but I have no idea who he is and only know him by first name. He could have just been a day laborer or a jerkoff for all I know. I never really saw or knew of a whole lot of mob activity up that way but I'm young enough to have missed the bulk of blatant in-the-open activity just about everywhere

The pizza place that was next to Campagnola was really good. I forget what it was called. A lifetime ago I'd walk home from work from 59th street and hit up the OTB and that pizza place a couple days a week. Never went to Campagnola always new it to be an old man's hangout , lots of politicians, top cops, I think even Mike Francesca hangs out in there. Really miss it up there , lot of times I'd go months without going west of 3rd avenue...with working from home now I doubt I'd even leave the neighborhood at all. Not the greatest italian food in the world but there's still a few spots, a couple from the Bronx opened a pizza place on 83rd between 1st and 2nd and they'd do basic home cooked red sauce dishes that were actually really good
Re: UES
Also, interesting that Chin's townhouse was only a block or so from Tommy Gambino's Townhouse (I think he had a big apt in a huge old limestone mansion) Chin was at 76 park and madison i think and T.G lived on 77th btwn mad and 5th I THINK. Also, this is all a few hundered yards from where handsome jack was shot up. So arcuri, chin and gambino all lived or had social club inside of two football fields

Sandros is well known and very popular restaurant. Major props to Bowatt if this is his place. With all that dope $, he probably owns some uptown real estate which would put him in big time baller status and the way a smart wise guy ends his career.newera_212 wrote: ↑Mon Oct 24, 2022 9:15 am I am from up there.
