Weren't there rumours of Paradiso's health being bad? He's in his 80s so I'm sure he has some issues but I remember someone saying he was in bad last maybe late last year.

It’s amazing, his brother is a detective with the Brooklyn DA, I believe. Talk about a conflict. Brooklyn DA detectives were probably at the wake taking photos.

His wife has wealthy connections as well

Pennisi had him shelved when he flipped, 2018. Lastorino went away, and could've been shelved as early as 1994. There's no sign of him being active at any time upon his 08 release, so likely shelved at least then, and as late as 1994.
This indicates Lastorino was on the shelf for as little as 10 (08-18) and as many as 28 years (94-death).
I can't see why you'd shelved a guy for 10 years (+) then change your mind. Maybe, but unlikely.

And if it's not uncommon for members to pay respects at funerals, guys showing up at his funeral doesn't mean anything.

There was a crew of Colombo guys. That where all shelved guys because they supported orena. Anthony Colombo and a few others. They did business with other family's but where technically on the Colombo family's shelf. Probably a order from carmine but really wasn't inforced

Not sure. Capeci said that he was put on the shelf by Barney in around 2015.

Lastorino looks different in damn near every picture he's in . Some of those older shots of him he kinda looks like Kevin Nealon from SNL. Would be cool to hear Lastorino's back story and who he came up under. He was a Canarsie guy but wasn't in the Vario crew (right?) - old photos of him with DeMeo when presumably DeMeo was a Lucchese associate .

I always thought that Genovese members were allowed to attend out of respect for Sammy’s son who was a made guy also.

In reference to Frank so many members from all families showing up to a funeral for a guy who was on the shelf for so long is very odd. Maybe there’s more to it we don’t know.
