Both these guys had quite the reputation...and now they have to serve time for a chicken shit offense. Quite the fall from grace, eh?

Interesting...Any other news outlets reporting this?Wiseguy wrote:Scott reporting Greg Costa bumped up to captain.
According to sources located in the North End, as Spagnolo prepares to leave town for prison, Fat Greg Costa is getting used to a new job and new responsibilities – Costa was allegedly upped to capo by DiNunzio at some point in the past six months, a decision signed off by Spagnolo and syndicate don Peter (The Crazy Horse) Limone, an octogenarian gangster currently in semiretirement. Costa rose through the ranks of the mob as DiNunzio’s driver, bodyguard and top collector. The pair went down together in a federal racketeering case in the mid-2000s. DiNunzio, 58, got out of prison earlier this year.
The 46-year old Costa took fed pinches in 2002 and 2006. Patriarca button men were caught discussing Costa’s strong arm antics on FBI audio surveillance in 2001, one referring to him as a “loose cannon” and questioning why DiNunzio allows him to act the way he does. Multiple sources say Spagnolo was initially reluctant to clear the choice of Costa as a new skipper and wanted to wait until DiNunzio got out of the can before the promotion was made.
“Carmen has wanted to give that spot to Greg for a while now, at least back as far as the last couple years of the bid he just did,” one GR source explained. “Greg’s a tough guy, he rubs some people the wrong way. But he’s Carmen’s guy and Carmen trusts him like a son. That goes a long way in this line of business.”

There r terrorist and pedo"s everywhere and the govt is worried about a couple old timers shaking down poker machine joints . Wat a country we have become . I am so glad to be on the back nine of my life .JCB1977 wrote:Wiseguy wrote:Spagnolo and Quintana plead guilty

In the government's defense, they have to allocate certain resources to LCN until they are told not to. They've already reduced their staff dedicated to LCN by 75%. They can't "just allow it to go on" whether it's a couple of old timers or not. If they ignore LCN, LCN will continue to spread out. Regardless, no matter what, whether it's NY or Chicago, it'll never be the same...ever. No more waves of Italian immigrants flooding America and there is a lot more opportunity today to make money legitimately to even consider LCN.Eddie mush wrote:There r terrorist and pedo"s everywhere and the govt is worried about a couple old timers shaking down poker machine joints .
