Probably were born in the same neighborhood there living at 80yrs later. Atleist they wasn't pushing the fentanyl fake pills. A common reason, namely not wanting to go to a regularly scheduled full time job, if they were always brokesters..CornerBoy wrote: ↑Wed Nov 30, 2022 11:25 am interesting that even the west side has brokesters.....who else is there?
They must be so fucking stupid- money is whole reason to get involved unless they enjoy sitting and living on scummy blocks and basically live a lower middle class existence which is fine but why take the chance if you aren't going to earn? They can't get any big money associates?

I thought that was a good book. Gave some good insight, from an associates point of view, into the Gambinos in the 1990s.Pmac2 wrote: ↑Wed Nov 30, 2022 6:09 pm I remember reading a book a real shit sandwich but it was before everyone had a ebook. Looks like Russo and Albanese are tied to a pill mill operation:

I know they say it was Carmine Russo busted, but can we really be sure it was him? Looks like a budget Batman villain.

"The accused dealers carried out similar schemes with alleged associates Elia Albanese and Carmine Russo to get oxycodone pills from a different Midtown Manhattan doctor, prosecutors said."
Did they get those pills those though? Who is the midtown Doctor? Really no details about Albanese and Russo here. They knew the street level dealers and had a conspiracy going to try to get Opiates from a different doctor than the article mentioned?
The other doctor was named and was specifically noted as actually giving the medications. It's Interesting that *that* doctor stayed away from the tried and true, and went for Adderall and CIII - CIV substances, even if a doctor is crooked most know that Oxy is too hot to get caught up in. There's an Adderall "shortage" right now because for the past 2 years it's been heavily overprescribed. Those Oxy pill mills are history and are long gone but there have always been Adderall ones around (including the newer ones via virtual telehealth apps) and I feel like we're going to start to see crackdowns on them. I know 2 places off the top of my head in Downtown Manhattan where you can go in, answer an 8 question "test" to see if you have ADD, and walk out with an Adderall script. Until NYS mandated electronic scripts - the doctor had nothing on his desk besides a phone and a prescription pad. Now it's just a laptop

Re: Carmine Russo / Genovese
I know nothing about them but they seem like neighborhood guys or knuckledraggers who are content with hopping from scam to scam and piecing together hustles, staying in the mix, hanging out in the neighborhood, etc. - both of them have had semi-successful quasi-legit businesses that they were able to get off the ground, but some of that revolved around the old Fish Market which was like a cheat code for those guys. They seem more like common mobsters than anyone else, typical run of the mill LCN guys , doing literally anything they can to make money. Wouldn't be surprised if they were heavy gamblers too but I don't know that. Wouldn't be surprised if one of them owns property in Manhattan too. They both go back generations Downtown. They just seem like regular ass mobsters frankly. The bulk of the mob are made up of these types of guys, they just happened to fall in with the Genovese when they were coming up. If they were born in Queens instead they could have been some random Bonnano guys we rarely hear about instead. The West Side's membership roll has swelled to like 250(?) at one point in time, not all 250 of those guys are going to be elusive super rich masterminds...only a select inner circle is and those guys carry the rep for the whole familyCornerBoy wrote: ↑Wed Nov 30, 2022 11:25 am interesting that even the west side has brokesters.....who else is there?
