Hearing that carmine russo, Genovese soldier from little Italy, was arrested. Not sure of details. Wonder if anyone else heard of takedown? Nothing in news as far as I can see.

He's gotta be close to 80 years by now? Wonder if he's still "active" - stuff floating around made him seem like a bum but I think he was pretty plugged into all of the old byzantine business shit of downtown Manhattan and even though people like him are a dying breed, they are still around.

I believe it’s some oxy type case involving doctors. Still nothing in news. Haven’t seen anything on the fbi press page. Apparently his old time brokester partner Elio Albanese also picked up.

I believe Russo and albanese are likely both members of the Brescio/Polito (Gangi involved?) crew, and Brescio definitely has some cash. Owning Lombardi’s alone is a cash cow.

During the summer I drove alot I listened to that convict inc guy. He said Russo was a good guy in prison but jimmy Ida hated him and would make his life he'll for whatever reason. Seem imo like you said he was just a knock around guy from Manhattan and been hooked up with the genovese family probably since he was a kid. Probably was friends with chin or whoever brought him in

He was a Fulton Fish Markey guy. If I am not mistaken, he is a relation of Carmine Russo, who was an uncle of the Romano brothers and owned Carmine's.

Russo and fellow Genovese soldier Elio Albanese are both brokesters. There is a photo of them selling illegal fireworks on the street like a couple of bums. They ran a bank robbery crew back in the day, but I'm guessing they squandered most of the money.

I remember reading a book a real shit sandwich but it was before everyone had a ebook. I forgot the Gambino associates name but he was around nick corrozzo till he did something wrong and flipped on abunch of Gambino and these 2 genovese guys who are just hoodlums.
