Incarcerated Members: 1993 vs. 2022

Incarcerated Members: 1993 vs. 2022
Numbers based on official FBI estimates as of November, 1993. Just a simple study comparing the amount of incarcerated members in 1993 and 2022. I will also note members who have been imprisoned during the intervening years (1993 to 2022). I did not include the DeCavalcante, Philadelphia, or New England families as I don't believe their respective lists in the charts forum have been updated in quite some time. I can certainly add them in a supplemental post if someone has accurate 2022 numbers.
Let me know if I missed anyone.
Bonanno
1993: 9
2022: 14
Thomas Pitera
Colombo
1993: 27
2022: 15
Victor Orena
Michael Sessa
Gambino
1993: 27
2022: 10
Genovese
1993: 15
2022: 8
Alan Grecco
Louis Manna
Lucchese
1993: 24
2022: 19
Vittorio Amuso
Chicago
1993: 11
2022: 2
I think it's telling that the Bonannos were the only family to see an increase in convictions between 1993 and 2022. This is because the family was seen in the 90s as "weaker" and more unstable compared to the other four NY families.

Philadelphia
1993: 26
2022: 7 (soon to be 10 when Grande and the Mazzones begin serving their sentences)
If I'm correct, the only confirmed DeCavalcante member presently in custody is Charles Stango, who's in a halfway house in New York.

Thanks, Chin. None of these Philly guys have been continuously incarcerated since '93, right? I think Scarfo would have been the last one, but of course he's dead.chin_gigante wrote: ↑Wed Oct 26, 2022 12:40 pm Philadelphia

Nobody continuous since '93, but John Stanfa, Frank Martines, and Giuseppe Gallara (all doing life) have been in prison since 1994. The other guys still in prison are Joseph Massimino, Anthony Nicodemo, Salvatore Piccolo, and Joseph Servidio.

Allan Grecco? Not to get too much off topic but didn't he have a cop on his payroll and one of the first to break into the HMO rackets for Genoveses?

For Kansas City you could list Vincent Pisciotta, currently incarcerated until 12/09/2029.
This article makes reference to a court filing where the FBI identifies him as a member.

Before anyone jumps on me for including Costa as a confirmed guy, he’s on Limones list included with the section of Boston Made Members which is them followed by all Providence Made Members which is then followed by associates from both locales. Same with Prochilo Sr. I’m going to have argue he’s made. I added Anthony Rizzo, who has been floated before because I found an official government reference.

Are you referring to the 2010 Probation list or this a separate list? I ask becaus the probation list also included associate and didn't differentiate between m hers and associates or Boston and Providence. Thanks.

Yeah, a lot of names on that list but no specifics regarding who was made. That would include Costa, Prochilo Sr. and Rizzo.Pogo The Clown wrote: ↑Thu Oct 27, 2022 7:04 amJoeCamel wrote: ↑Wed Oct 26, 2022 9:31 pm Before anyone jumps on me for including Costa as a confirmed guy, he’s on Limones list included with the section of Boston Made Members which is them followed by all Providence Made Members which is then followed by associates from both locales. Keep in mind that list is 30 years ago. Also, the Colombos, Bonannos, and Luccheses have fluctuated through the years with their size, thereby alternating who was #3, 4, and 5 in size at any given time. In more recent years, the Colombos have been the smallest in NY.

All roads lead to New York.
Re: Incarcerated Members: 1993 vs. 2022
FBI also had a "member source" in the Colombos for decades (Scarpa) while the Bonannos didn't have a member publicly cooperate until 2002 (Coppa). Also important to note that the Genovese have never had an administration member cooperate while the other four NYC families have. Generally -- but not always -- administration members have a better handle on the amount and identity of made members.Wiseguy wrote: ↑Thu Oct 27, 2022 8:44 amKeep in mind that list is 30 years ago. Also keep in mind that the Bonannos had 10 members murdered between 1979-1992 and had their books closed for most of that time period as well which really shrunk the family. Then in the 1990s the same thing happened to the Colombos while the Bonannos rebounded with a bunch of new inductions under Massino.

Re: Incarcerated Members: 1993 vs. 2022
The Bonanno family was quite diminished when Massino took over, as he said so in his own words:
Who had less to work with than me? [...] When I first went to jail, I had nobody. Think about it, when I went in in ‘87, I had nobody. We just made Sal, we just made all the Louies, we just straightened guys out. We had nobody, we didn't make nobody for six years.
