It seems like every other week there is a story about the Italian govt seizing tens of millions and sometimes hundreds of millions in assets from some Sicilian or Calabrian mafioso.

How many American wiseguys do we think have more than $10M in assets?

I think the Sicilians are much more into drugs than the U.S. guys which is why they always have the large dollar amount.

10 million in assets shouldn't be that hard to get for the NYC guys involved in real estate.

Sometimes it was over 1 billion $ , thing is once assets goes to public auction , it is again bought by people close to mafia because no one wants to buy assets seized from the mafia in Italy.

Jackie the Kid in Detroit just recently got a settlement from his daughter's medical incident in Vegas to the tune of $29.5 million. Hardly ill gotten income and I'm sure he would trade it all for his daughter to be normal again.
