The difference is its my choice.

VS someone holding a gun to my head under threat of imprisonment.

(OH, also the fact that the private market makes things cheaper vs the government makes things more expensive. So a cheaper free choice vs a threat of imprisonment and artificial higher prices)
"The U.S. spends more on health care per person than other major industrialized nations — a lot more. In 2011, expenditures for health care totaled $8,500 per person in the U.S. The country next closest in spending, among 10 other major industrialized nations, was Norway, which spent $5,700 per person. New Zealand spent the least on health care, at $3,200 per person.

Unfortunately, despite far outspending the rest of the world, the U.S. doesn’t even come close to having the best health care system in the world.

The Commonwealth Fund in June issued a report examining that troubling fact. The report, “Mirror, Mirror on the Wall: How the Performance of the U.S. Health Care System Compares Internationally, ” ranked the U.S. last overall among 11 major industrialized countries as of 2013 (see table below). This continues a trend that the Commonwealth Fund has documented in prior reports published in 2004, 2006, 2007 and 2010. The report also revealed that the U.S. had worse health outcomes than the other countries."

"Abstract

Issue: No two countries are alike when it comes to organizing and delivering health care for their people, creating an opportunity to learn about alternative approaches.

Goal: To compare the performance of health care systems of 11 high-income countries.

Methods: Analysis of 71 performance measures across five domains — access to care, care process, administrative efficiency, equity, and health care outcomes — drawn from Commonwealth Fund international surveys conducted in each country and administrative data from the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development and the World Health Organization.

Key Findings: The top-performing countries overall are Norway, the Netherlands, and Australia. The United States ranks last overall, despite spending far more of its gross domestic product on health care. The U.S. ranks last on access to care, administrative efficiency, equity, and health care outcomes, but second on measures of care process.

Conclusion: Four features distinguish top performing countries from the United States: 1) they provide for universal coverage and remove cost barriers; 2) they invest in primary care systems to ensure that high-value services are equitably available in all communities to all people; 3) they reduce administrative burdens that divert time, efforts, and spending from health improvement efforts; and 4) they invest in social services, especially for children and working-age adults."

If your argument is that more government centralization will make it cheaper, bring the price down or increase efficiency, then we just simply disagree.

I'm not arguing for the US system, I'm arguing against, government.

Government intervention in the private sector has never once in the history of the private sector made things more efficient or reduced price. This is because it's against the inertia of government to do so.

So I guess we just disagree. It is a joy debating a well thought out, logical argument, though, so kudos sir.

It's not an apples and apples comparison. All countries compared have varying degrees of universal care or government mandate. There is no orange to compare too ie a free market health care system.

We can only draw on comparisons in which an industry or sector has zero government intervention, and up and draw the clear conclusion that again, the inertia of government is inefficiency vs market efficiency.

But again, a good well researched argument.

The guy has been boss for 5'ish years and they have nothing on him yet? When they indict him are they going to seize his collection of bicycles he uses to move between meetings, as well?

Marty Madonna was the Acting Boss from 2009 until 2017 though between that time he did some years in on that state gambling case. The case against DeSantis will be a strong one because of Pennisi.

Heard today from a friend involved in construction at a pretty big level that major construction case coming down next week, apparently bunch of the executives have been told to surrender and he thinks this likely connected to the long running Frank Camuso investigation. We’ll see whether this finally is the Camuso case.
