If the surname originally was DeFeo (De Feo), then my impression is that it would be much more likely to be from Campania than Basilicata.

According to the census, his father Giuseppe Randazzo was born 1866 and arrived in 1913. Giuseppe Randazzo is like the "William Smith" of Sicily. I went through his wife and found a Giuseppe Randazzo from Castellammare married to a Maria Mione from Castellammare. In 1920 they had a nephew named Joseph Orlando living with them.
So the Gens had at least two Castellammaresi with them. Interesting. it's not controversial it just goes back to preconceived notions. I once theorized that alot of the Sicilians in the Gens would be Messinese. Nope. More provincial Palermitans than anything.

Yeah, I had tried to confirm Ardito’s father’s origin and was also unsuccessful. Ardito is overwhelmingly a Puglies’ and specifically Bares’ surname (hence there are a bunch of them in Chicago, though I wasn’t able to establish any link to Buster Ardito). Montemilone, Potenza, is near the border with Puglia, though, so it makes sense that one would see it there (we have the example of Johnny Torrio, who was actually Bares’ but happened to have been born just over the border in Potenza due to his father’s job with the railroad).

Tommy Eboli: Lived in Melrose Park, IL for a time, where he married Anna Ariola, also of Scisciano. Children with her were Thomas Eboli JR and Louis Eboli (Chicago LCN member).
John Stoppelli: Mother's family from Trivigno, major source comune for Chicago. Seems to have had cousins in Chicago also.
Joe Schipani: The father of Chicago members Luigi and Francesco Fratto was also born in Sersale.
Frank Tieri: Tieri and his parents were lfrom Napoli but living in Marseille before emigrating to NYC in 1911.
Joseph Stracci: Wife Cecilia Rao was sister of Joseph "Joey" Rao.

My guess would have been the guy you mentioned was from Cinisi since he was a Randazzo and he married a Badalamenti/Badalamente. Common names but you always see those together in Cinisi.

You're right, he was born in Cinisi, it had CDG listed as where he last resided.

Another thing to note here is that Boiardo spent time in Chicago after arriving in the US. His family lived there (Taylor St) for several years before they decamped to Newark.
Even just with the couple of guys I was able to look into deeply, I saw both confirmed and potential ties between mainlander Genovese members and Chicago. We can assume there are more that we still don’t know about, given the numbers of people from the same mainland regions that settled in both cities. Another example would be the Catenas, as they had ties to their paesani in Chicago, including a guy who owned a pool hall/social club by Taylor St that was apparently used by the Buccieri crew (Gene Catena was documented visiting this place in the 60s, as eboli has mentioned). Ricigliano was a major paesani group in Chicago, and the President in the 30s of one of the Riciglianese Societies was a Catena. Trivigno is another major town in Chicago, which had close links to Sicilian mafiosi there going back to the turn of the 20th century. That Stoppelli was a “Trivvie” (as they were called in Chicago) was, for me at least, a very significant find.
