Sicilians
Curious to everyone's take on Sicilians in today's American LCN? It seems they are gaining more influence within the 5 families, but historically, there was the air of disdain when discussing their presence here. The term Zips was almost s derogatory description. Also, it seems the Sicilians don't flip often, is that correct?

Re: Sicilians
I wouldn't say in all five families....the gambinos and bonnanos are more known for having zip factions. The luchesse s really never had any zip factions nor have the colombos. I'm not entirely sure about the Genovese's hc they are so damn secretive.

The Genovese have a few guys who are Italian born, even today, but there are no zip factions. In fact, they were known back in the day as being more "Americanized" than the other families who still identified more with the other side.

Re: Sicilians
I think the whole Zip thing is over hyped. Most of these "Zips" were guy's who came here as children, had no OC involvement until they came here or have been here most of their lives and made into US families for decades.

It's a new morning in America... fresh, vital. The old cynicism is gone. We have faith in our leaders. We're optimistic as to what becomes of it all. It really boils down to our ability to accept. We don't need pessimism. There are no limits.

Agreed. And even some of these guys reaching high levels in certain families doesn't equate to predictions in the past of Sicilians taking over the families here in the US.Pogo The Clown wrote:I think the whole Zip thing is over hyped.
