Was Frank Sheeran referenced in Mob Prince?
Re-reading Mob Prince again and the passage below struck me as interesting.
Back when Ange was boss and him and my uncle started having problems over the unions, we had heard than Ange (Bruno) had sent this big Irish guy from Northeast Philly down to Atlantic City and that this guy may have been looking to kill my uncle....when my uncle found out about it, he went crazy. He knew someone who knew the guy and he told them, "You tell that Irish motherfucker if he ever steps foot in Atlantic City again, for any reason, I'm gonna chop him up and send him back to Philadelphia in six trash bags, one for each of his arms, one for each of his legs, one for his torso and one for that big stupid fuckin' Irish head of his."
The natural inclination is to assume this was Sheeran they were referencing. I read the Brandt book years and years ago and it was initially very hard to get any information about Sheeran. There is a little more since the movie came out, but most of the tales have been disproved in one way or another.
One of the things that struck me in the book was how close Sheeran / Brandt said he was to Angelo Bruno. Always found it hard to believe that he was so close to two major bosses as an Associate (Buffalino being the other obviously).
Also found it odd that Scarfo never came up in the book at all, given the Union activity in Atlantic City - but maybe that all came when Sheeran was in jail post-Hoffa.
Would welcome anyone's thoughts on any of the above.

*Bufalino, not Buffalino. Christ.
Re: Was Frank Sheeran referenced in Mob Prince?
Wait, so Sheeran's book was bullshit?

No, it was an accurate portrayal of his life. The part were Bufalino gave Sheerhan the ring, that part, gave me goosebumps. I mean Bufalino even helps him pick out his selection of cereal and helps him pour it in the bowl. Such a cosa nostra move right there.

Sheeran's story is greatly exaggerated, he was not involved in Gallo's death, nor was he the one who killed Hoffa. Although some points may be true, he was close to Bufalino and Hoffa, so maybe in this whole mess of his book, some things are true.

so the whole hoffa thing was bullshit?

Re: Was Frank Sheeran referenced in Mob Prince?
The theory that many say is that Sheeran was on the day of the murder, to calm Hoffa, Hoffa would only get in that car if Sheeran was there, for him to see that it was "all right", but it wasn't Sheeran who shot him. In the house where Sheeran said that Hoffa was killed, they found blood there, it has not been confirmed whether or not it was Hoffa's, but this shows that there is a kernel of truth in Sheeran's story.

Yeah seems like the most commonly held belief is that Sheeran was there but he wasn’t the shooter. Though there are some ppl that will even push back on Sheeran being there.

It's either Sheeran or John Berkery, who were Bruno's two big Irish flunkies back in the day.AnIrishGuy wrote: ↑Fri Jul 01, 2022 1:36 am The natural inclination is to assume this was Sheeran they were referencing. That thing about the trash bags is one of the all-time great Scarfo quotes BTW.

Yes I'm being sarcastic! Lol I referenced when Joe pescis character poured corn flakes into a bowl for him, cmon now people...it was supposed to be funny. The jokes on me now I guess lol
Re: Was Frank Sheeran referenced in Mob Prince?
He wasn't there. He was a drunk. He wouldn't have been willingly around or used for an operation like that.
Re: Was Frank Sheeran referenced in Mob Prince?
I've mentioned this before, but I've always been intrigued by Sheeran's connection to Stanfa in the early 90s. They knew each other and were friendly. Sheeran recommends a couple guys(Rebbie and Weinstein) to work with Stanfa and they're involved in the getaway/cleanup of the Frank Baldino murder. Always found that interesting.
