Anthony Staino

Anybody know any background or more information on Philly’s Anthony Staino? He seemed to rise quick and became one of Joe ligambi’s top guys for ten years but I haven’t heard much about him before that or after that.

Nephew of Scarfo-era member Ralph Staino. Was an associate in George Borgesi's crew in the 1990s. Was Ligambi's driver. Partnered with Ligambi and Joseph Massimino in a video poker machine business. Appears to have been inducted around 2004 and very quickly moved up to a Captain position. Got caught on tape that same year describing himself as the mob's "CFO" and that member Vincent Filipelli was under him. George Anastasia and Dave Schratwieser reported that the FBI was listing Staino as the Acting Underboss in 2005. This position then went to Martin Angelina but it seems Staino remained Ligambi's de facto number 2.

All the old guys like Faffy and Chickie has been photographed around Philly. Not one picture of Staino since he was released from prison. He keeping a low profile for sure. George A. and Bloated Dave haven’t mentioned him in their videos that I recall.

Staino has supervised release. I don’t believe Faffy or Chickie do.
