Number of murdered members per family

Post by B. »

This idea is pretty big and it's impossible to ever get a correct count, but I was thinking about how families aren't supposed to make new members in place of members who have been murdered (though this rule has been broken). This got me thinking about the total of murdered members in each family throughout their history. All we can go with are the murders that we know of, but that's still something.

Unfortunately I am terrible with lists like this. Would someone be able to get a list like this started and then we can all add to it? Preferably member name, family, and year they were killed.

Chicago

Sam DeStefano (1973)
Sam Giancana (1975)
Johnny Rosselli (1976)
Chuck Nicoletti (1977)
James Catuara (1978)
Tony Borsellino (1979)
William Petrocelli (1980)
Leo Manfredi (1982)
Jasper Campise (1983)
Charles English (1985)
Anthony Spilotro (1986)
John Fecarotta (1986)
Anhtony Chiaramonti (2001)

I am sure Antilliar knows the years for some older guys like Gioe or Lawrence Mangano. Fairly certain that most of the guys above were members. Least confident in Petrocelli but very much so for the remainder.

It's a new morning in America... fresh, vital. The old cynicism is gone. We have faith in our leaders. We're optimistic as to what becomes of it all. It really boils down to our ability to accept. We don't need pessimism. There are no limits.

I was watching something last night on Philly and they said something that stuck in my head....of 50 made guys in the Scarfo era 29 were whacked. I don't know if that was accurate or not, but that's pretty amazing if it is.

Completely inaccurate. I can't even think of 29 people including associates who were killed under Scarfo.

Thanks for the contributions so far.

Any idea if Chicago has maintained the rule about not replacing murdered members? I assume they had it early on, but with the way that crew has evolved I have no idea.

Totally forgot about Fecarotta. Thanks, Pete.

I added Leo Manfredi. Probably also need to add Tony Borsellino.
