You being the guru you are... figured I'd ask... have you seen these yet? Any thoughts? I myself thought the shit was washed up.... but maybe they have a leaner, more under the radar core? I dunno..... all the guys I know are in the Feds, lol...
What got me intrigued was 3 of the Chicago Board members, arnt based in Chicago. They come from East St.Louis. Kentucky, and fucking Naperville, of all places...

Re: Question for PolackTony on Chicago gangs
I actually hadn’t seen the second Sun-Times article, so thanks for posting. I agree that this is interesting; Board members from outside of Chicago is a new one for me too, though I suppose some of those guys might be more loyal to the concept than a lot of guys in Chicago today. Given that he’s in Florence fucking ADX, Hoover is obviously not directly involved in anything. Probably not even indirectly. One wonders to what degree he’s just a rallying cry and organizing symbol for them at this point. It’s unclear to me exactly what the Board is in control of anymore anyway, at least when it comes to Chicago. My impression has definitely been that while the Latin gangs have maintained their structures intact, the Black gangs, on the street at least as opposed to the prison system, have basically deteriorated into warring block crews immersed in tit-for-tat battles with rival block crews. These kids might still rep GDN, BDN, BPSN, etc., but from what I can tell these seem more like “brands” than intact organizations at this point (again, on the street). While guys on the Board may have groups loyal to them in the streets, I just don’t see that they have anything like a coherent chain of command and organizational structure that actually controls most of these warring little factions. I don’t see it being likely that the Board still functions as a real leadership and policy apparatus in the way that they once did, though obviously I don’t have an insider view on the current state of GDN. Even if there is a core group of Hoover loyalists and guys plugged in with them, things went to complete shit years ago and you can’t put the cat back in the bag. These guys are gonna tell a bunch of idiot kids shooting each other, who have never had any real experience of authority and command, to do what they say? Yeah, OK, that ain’t happening. As you know, things are a long way off from when the Board would pass an edict from the “White House” (Statesville), which was passed on to the generals and from there to the section chiefs and their soldiers, which would be law obeyed on the street. The days of Follow and Obey the Laws the King Sets are dead.CabriniGreen wrote: ↑Sun May 08, 2022 1:03 am You being the guru you are... figured I'd ask... have you seen these yet? Any thoughts? J Prince, is..... I'm reasonably sure... the GD board member for that region....hes a different kinda guy from what I've read. He like.... buys cattle farms...lol...
I know for a fact they sent Don Smokey to control Cabrini when he initially got out. I think everyone fell in line except the Crazy crew, ( Chucks old crew, by far the most vicious in the White Walls, Reds, not sure..) My cousin swore to me he was a secret crackhead, and was running around demanding " Tribute", basically extorting the dealers. He claims he approached the Royal brothers, demanded a tribute, and got thrown a beating on the spot.
I got a theory he was one of Melvin Haywood's guys, "Head", this was the guy calling it after Operation Headache. I think he and Hoover were in conflict as to who was to run the streets. Hoover wanted Chuck, Head wanted a Southsider.....
I saw Hoover Jr. with Kanye on Drink Champs, and he said, " theres good people in Cabrini"... I was like..." Who is he referring to, what side?"...
The whole thing had me taken aback.... like I'm not sure where this indictment even came from.... I thought it interesting...

Re: Question for PolackTony on Chicago gangs
I saw this murder as a culmination of a conflict that started in 1995...

Scott, I love you.... But.... I'm not sure... I'm not going to use a definitive, but I dont think Wilson was running Cabrini from jail. Chuck had the whole White Walls scared to death..... also, he never depended on the Gds for supply, I think this was a big part of the problem.... I got it from guys in the streets that this guy was an actual
crack user.....
It's funny to me this North side/Cabrini vs Southside thing JUST got resolved.....

It's really funny, because how Wilson is described is actually what Chuck was....CabriniGreen wrote: ↑Sun May 08, 2022 3:26 am I saw this murder as a culmination of a conflict that started in 1995...

What stuck out to me is these guys ages. They are definitely not young kids, which had me wondering where these guys came from. Where their power base is....PolackTony wrote: ↑Sun May 08, 2022 1:45 amI actually hadn’t seen the second Sun-Times article, so thanks for posting. Re: Question for PolackTony on Chicago gangs
By “kids” of course, I meant the drill rap kids killing each other in Chicago today. These guys on the GDN board, who are not kids, I honestly don’t understand who they are or where they came from, and am unclear as to how the latter relate to the former as anything like a real command structure. Did these guys actually move up the ranks after starting out as GD soldiers as kids, or do they have the spots they have now because they’re simply plugged in with the core group of Hoover people?
