Not exactly what you're asking for, B, but it's a similar idea. Made guys who had affairs with the wives of other members - and got away with it. The best example is of Sam Giancana having an affair with Marshall Caifano's wife. I think the exchange was that Caifano got to run Las Vegas. There was one conversation that indicated that deep down he wasn't okay with Giancana having his wife and felt like he got cheated on the exchange.

Guess all the money in Vegas isn't worth the dishonor.

Gravano said in one of his episodes that Lombardozzi had an affair with Sammy Mintz's wife as well as the daughter. The wife part might be Sammy bullshit, but the daughter story alone falls under your question given daughters are part of the rule. In that case they smoothed it out by forcing him to marry the girl.

Curious how that rule is with associates. The rule applies to made members but if a member has an affair with the wife of a respected associate who is on record with another member I wonder what would happen. In the same way shaking down that associate would be seen as an affront to the member he's with, I feel like sleeping with an associate's wife would be considered a direct insult to the member as well.

The story has always been that one of Tony Spilotro's major violations that led to his downfall was fucking with Lefty Rosenthal's wife. I'm not sure what the admin in Chicago really thought of it or how much they cared, but assuming that they did, another question would be if they cared because of the disrespect in itself or because they were worried about how it might've affected the Vegas skim operation.

I believe Nick C testified that Spilotro's affair with Rosenthal's wife was one of the reasons used to justify his murder. I could see concern over the disrespect, the effect on the skim, and potential that this would make Rosenthal talk to the feds.

The following is from Tommy Palmer Greco's FBI files that Antiliar recently posted.

"Informant advised that PALMER at one time was a partner of CHARLIE "LUCKY" LUCIANO, and that VITO GENOVESE is one of PALMER'S best friends. He stated that PALMER'S restaurant is a legitimate operation which is good for a sizeable profit each year, and is the front behind which he operates.

He stated that PALMER is feared by sicilians as an individual and because he is the head of "real toughs". He stated that PALMER is a very shrewd operator who is never out in front of an operation. _____ stated that some years ago a meeting was held in Atlantic City, New Jersey, Between FRANK COSTELLO, JOE ADONIS, VITO GENOVESE and others.

He stated that this meeting was just before JOE ADONIS was deported. He was unable to advise the specific reason for this meeting, nor was he able to advise the time or date or other specific information. The only information he was able to furnish was that COSTELLO and PALMER got into an argument and PALMER, who is very hot-headed, charged COSTELLO to give him a physical beating and GENOVESE stopped him.

PALMER then told COSTELLO if he wanted war he would have it and he "would knock his G__D__ block off".

I remember reading that Frank Bompensiero almost went off on Costello too. Jack Dragna had to shut him down.

Great find, Charlie.

Costello was surprisingly unpopular around the country, while Genovese was loved. Magaddino for example hated Costello but said Genovese was like a brother to him. Was interesting to find this out after the picture painted by Bonanno and Valachi, but makes sense why Genovese was able to usurp Costello with zero issues.

Sort of. Nove's brother Joe Tocco was jumped. Joe is a made guy. They jumped him, gave him a beating, and took his cell phone---trying to figure out location of Nove. Scott can say for sure, but it was either guys from Gene Barratta's crew or Tony Tocco's guys who gave the beating.

Petey Chops getting his head cracked with the candelabra in Bloomingdales by Robert Vaccaro after talking shit to Greg DePalma.
Interestingly, DePalma yelled at Vicini AFTER getting cracked "You're shelved". I wonder if that was to cover Vaccaro for putting his hands on another friend and trying to clear him.
All this according to Jack Garcia of course.

I remember that story but wasn't sure if Vicini was actually made -- so Garcia said he was?

Yes. In Garcia's story he said first that DePalma screamed back at Vicini "You're shelved, that's it, you're on the shelf" as they were leaving.
Then when they were in the car, he went over the story they were going to go with, specifically because Petey Chops was a made guy and Vaccaro hit him. DePalma specifically addressed the potential problem saying, "When they ask you say that he was acting like a jerk and came at you first. And he's going to put in a beef, but he's gotta put it in with his captain, and that's me, so this isn't gonna go anywhere".
According to Garcia we're lead to believe that both Vaccaro and Vicini were made at the time.

Yeah Pennisi mentioned it in a recent video around the 6 minute mark. He was shelved at the time.

Pennisi said it…must be a lie. Pennisi is like a junior high school gossip talking about every other made guy,
