Photo ID assistance - Tampa/Profaci?
This is an enhanced, colorized version of a photo I had in my book The Silent Don. A batch of Antinori family photos was recently sent to me, including this one that was enhanced by a local attorney who owns Ignazio Antinori's house.
So this photo dates from before October 1940 ('cause Ignzaio was killed them). It is taken in the side yard of the Antinori house in the Riverside Heights neighborhood of Tampa.
From L-r sitting- Alphonso Diecidue, a younger Diecidue relative, Ignazio Antinori
From L-r, Standing - Vincent Antinori, Santo Trafficante Sr, unk, unk, Jimmy Lumia
The family says that the man 2nd from right standing is a Profaci. To me, it doesn't look like Joe, but wanted to throw this out there and see if anyone has a guess.

Love this photo, I am born and raised in Tampa and went to school with relatives of all these gentlemen. If only the heights still looked like this
Re: Photo ID assistance - Tampa/Profaci?
I think the 2nd man on the right is Vincent Mangano, the Italiano in-law. If you have a copy of the January 2012 issue of Informer on page 26 there's a photo of an older Mangano who looks just like him.
You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

Not sure - this is Vincent Mangano in 1938 after his arrest for a cigar factory robbery.

Thanks. THe Antinori house and side yard where this was taken are still there. The new owner of the house invited me over to tour it last week. It's amazing.

I've seen that photo, but a haircut and change of angles and expression can make a huge difference. He does resemble the photo I uploaded, so I think it's at least possible. I'm not saying it's definitely him, just that it could be. I'm open to other possibilities.

Could very well be. I'll see of the family has another photo of VincentAntiliar wrote: ↑Sun Apr 17, 2022 9:42 amI've seen that photo, but a haircut and change of angles and expression can make a huge difference. Here is one more photo of that group . Wish the tops of their heads weren't cut off.
Re: Photo ID assistance - Tampa/Profaci?
Great photos. I'd hang at that house.
Can see the resemblance Antiliar mentioned but don't think it's Mangano.
The unknown taller guy in the middle looks more like a Profaci to me -- I've only seen blurry/unclear photos of Salvatore Profaci Sr. so not sure if it's him but similar look/build.
Frank Profaci isn't in the photo and the eldest brother Emanuele died in 1934 so would depend on the exact year of the photo to be him.

Re: Photo ID assistance - Tampa/Profaci?
Just reconfirmed with my source and he said nine fact it's the tall guy who the family said was a Profaci, not the shorter guy next to him, wo that may be Frank Profaci.Stroccos wrote: ↑Mon Apr 18, 2022 3:29 pmThe taller guy I think He does resemble frank profaciB. wrote: ↑Sun Apr 17, 2022 1:26 pm Great photos. Re: Photo ID assistance - Tampa/Profaci?
So, I found out the ID of the shirt, squat man standing 2nd from right. It's Tom Diecidue.
