Good info. Westchester Square/Parkchester was a mixed area with many Irish, Italians, Jews, and Germans back in the day. So we know that there was at least one Gambino member living in the East Bx that early, though I’m sure there must’ve been others.

LOL...I hear you. Country Club is a very nice, chill area. I'm originally from Belmont/187th, but now up in Northern Westchester. I miss the Bronx every now and then, but then drive through Fordham or Arthur Avenue for 30 minutes or so and I'm good for another couple of months.
He says Mickey Paradiso is the one who got Ernie or off the shelf and that Ernie took over his crew when he moved up to consigliere. Also mentioned that Blaise Corozzo once said he believed Ernie would one day be the Gambino boss to which John agreed.
Would be funny to have the biggest bosses in the country be named Ernie & Barney.

I've seen an article dating back to 1988 that claimed he was made then but Pennisi seems to think he was made sometime in the 90s after he was released from prison. Pretty sure he said in previous videos that when they were serving time together Grillo was still an associate.

It is the same crew. Grillo had previously been Acting Capo of it back in the 2000s.

The Gambino Family sending Grillo to mediate that dispute in Torretta between Sicilian mafia members fits with that.
I guess it’s safe to assume he can speak Sicilian or at very least half assed Italian. I don’t think they would send someone who needed a translator.
