That place will go belly up within 5 years.

if it sinks, it will be much sooner than that imo, give it a year and you will be able to see where the ship is going. honestly, this is not much different than a hollywood celebrity opening up a place going by name recognition to get people in the door, which is half the battle right there. bottom line, if the food is good, people will come back. if it isn't, the one and done type of customers simply can't sustain the vast majority of places, although a place like times square or other heavy tourist areas with an insane amount of foot traffic can prove an exception to that rule.JCB1977 wrote:That place will go belly up within 5 years.

Re: Merlino's Ristorante
Everyone with a few bucks behind them opens big in Boca. Everyone. Those places are a dime a dozen in Palm Beach County. It's like Five said, you'll know within a year. But one thing you have to consider is the seasonal aspect down there. You have to be able to break even from May to December and make your profit from January to May (which is the exact opposite of running a successful joint up here). You'll know much more about what kind of shape they're in come summer. And oddly enough, you'll probably know more about Joey Merlino's legal status right around the same time.Five Felonies wrote:if it sinks, it will be much sooner than that imo, give it a year and you will be able to see where the ship is going. honestly, this is not much different than a hollywood celebrity opening up a place going by name recognition to get people in the door, which is half the battle right there. bottom line, if the food is good, people will come back. if it isn't, the one and done type of customers simply can't sustain the vast majority of places, although a place like times square or other heavy tourist areas with an insane amount of foot traffic can prove an exception to that rule.JCB1977 wrote:That place will go belly up within 5 years.

I'm referring more to his face, than his height (although that's not helping him).Cheech wrote:Tag wrote:He still looks like an oompa loompa to me.JBELL wrote:http://www.philly.com/philly/news/local ... re_d_.html

Re: Merlino's Ristorante
You remember after Tommy Gioli and Dino Saracino got arrested, we were discussing that one day and I said they look like a pedophile lineup? Well back to that, imagine you're 10 years old and Merlino comes up to you with that face in the photo and offers you candy? Are you going to have pre-adolescent fantasies or are you gonna run screaming "mom" as fast your little legs would take you? Spitballin here.Tag wrote:
