Yeah, my hunch has been that Jimmy I is the capo but had other guys on the street running things to keep the heat off of him. If Antiliar's source is correct, Rainone is probably his main lieutenant/right hand on the street.

A bit of randomness in the midst of all this discussion, but this is the dumping ground, after all. Found a piece of information that I thought was interesting. The FBI identified 53 members or associates of the Chicago LCN residing in or around Phoenix, AZ in 1992. Of course, none of them were listed and their active involvement can only be conjectured, but it shows that there was still a significant Chicago presence in that city by the early 90s.

Max Lobue and his brother Matt Lobue, and Jason Nitti. Jason is the adopted son of a Cerone. Rosa Cerone is his mother. He worked for Anthony Marano in the produce business, but things aren't going well. Max Lobue owns Zaza Trattoria. Mike Bertucci is a drug dealer in EP, and his father is the police chief. Jimmy Marcello and Mike Sarno did make new guys who he calls "a bunch of degenerates." Max Lobue and Jason Nitti used to valet cars for Solly D - that's how they got in. Matteo or Max lives in Barrington very near Solly D. Jason Nitti is actually a Calabrese. The Lobues grew up in Desplaines. [This is from me, their names sound like they or their parents came from Corleone.] He said that the father of the Lobues was a cop in Italy. Dino Vitale was their inside man on the Cicero police force, and James Formato in Berwyn PD. Max and Solly D co-owned a warehouse in Elk Grove Village called S Produce. He says that EP only has a small crew of three guys with no capo. There are small crews like this operating in different places. Max Lobue is Massimo Lobue. His father was Filippo Lobue, who was a corrupt Italian cop.

I had some free time and was looking into the George Markopolous fire murder etc. Does anyone have any updated thoughts or opinions on that? It says he was shot as reported by nbchicago from a witness statement given to police back in 2011. But it seems as though the media reporting on it is almost complict because there is a lack of articles discussing how suspicious this is. In 2019 from abc7chicago Leah Hope states how him and another victim Wendy Bonder were beaten to death.

This could be a similar situation of some transient in the area and a crime of opportunity like the James Gerage murder and speculation on that being an outfit hit and it turned out to be at least in my strong opinion it wasn't. Maybe chicago is just a really violent city and some opportunity crime(s) are so abstract that any theory is plausible

This guy wasn't killed in Chicago it was Schiller Park - the suburbs. His bar was set up like a Casino mimicking the Horseshoe Casino in Gary Indiana and it was filled with video poker machines and hookers - I'd rather play those joker poker machines for five hours than put money on that being random
